Is there any way to contol how many minutes a player gets? I have figured out that if you dont have a back up the player will play all 48 minutes (unless he fouls out).

The situation I have is that I have two guys that have 28 min each at the position I want to train and only one spot for the scrimmage and last game of the week. Any way I can get both of them to play 20 minutes at the same spot for the game?

Is that also true that players have to play ALL their 48 minutes at the training position to get full training for said position?

Yes that is true. However if you train C/PF and a players get 20 minutes at C and 28 at PF he will get full training.

And no, there is no way to control exactly how many minutes a player gets.

Your best bet is to put one at starter, the other at backup, strictly follow depth chart... and keep your fingers crossed.

You can try. Set "Strictly follow depth chart" and win comfortably: 20-point lead by the beginning of the 4th quarter - and the sooner in the game you establish the lead, the better. Your starter should get 24-30 minutes and the backup 24-18.

Alex - I think you have a misunderstanding about training minutes. A player doesn't have to play ALL his 48 minutes in a game, but he has to play 48 minutes in a week (3 games) to get full training.

Yeah I get that they need 48 minutes over all the games of the week (normally 3 games), but I have a situation where I have one game left in the week and am trying to get 20 min from two players at the same position. I have 3 guys I am squeezing into 2 position. One guy has zero min this week, so I am playing him all 48 at center. Now I am trying to get two other players who have 28 min each at PF/C to 48 for the week and only the PF slot to get it to them. Guess I am trying to train too many players lol.

hmm, it's a tough one. There are a few things you could try but it may be a bit of a reach. You could try and use a fast tactic, so the starter gets tired earlier, and may only play 30 mins. You could even try and put the guy who has the highest PF/game as starter and tell your coach to 'sit them' hoping he will get enough fouls to keep his minutes down.

Bear in mind though that this may have -ve effect on the guy you are trying to give 48 mins. make sure that he is set as the back up and resrve and you pick 'strictly follow depth chart'. Also dont have anyone in your team (dressed for the game) that you dont want to play.
