Again, just putting my thoughts down. This time I am well fortified for whatever horrors await me . . .

Big Ballers:
-- Could these guys be my future? Two season ago, went 20-2, got promoted, had a rough go of it last season. (I don't see me with six wins, though).
-- Let's see: Salaries are on my end of the scale (low), but a nice bunch around 10,000. These fellows seem to be in the prime of their careers, however, (mid-20s), so they may not develop that much further.
-- Bench can be divided into young prospects, nothing below 20, and a full set of scrimmage bums. I imagine some players will be dropped.
-- Or maybe not. As with some other teams I've seen, developing players and putting them on the transfer list is a decent source of income. But from the size of the stadium, I don't think the Wangsters' Jim Carmichael is affordable. More my speed -- a player worth several hundred thousand is a major purchase.
-- Wooped up on the City to survive his first season in Div III -- I should count myself lucky if I last a season at this level.

Drons Wolfs:

-- My my. Undefeated last season in Div IV. Scored a bunch, great defense.
-- Two decent (going by salaries) big men; decent supporting cast. A fair, not overwhelming, degree of youth.
-- Hasn't added a seat to his arena; charges New York Yankees ticket prices. TL does not look to be a source of funds, either. I think this guy is a bit short of cash.
-- I like a balanced squad, and this bunch looks balanced. We will see how far this goes in Div III.
-- shot over 50% as a team last year.

eleMentals:

-- nice name.
-- 12 - 10 last season in Div. III
-- One of the ancients -- dating back to Season II, has made it to Div II, has been here in Div III for three seasons.
-- holy crap, his top 6 players make 162,000. oh my goodness. i feel like the twins against the yankees.
-- a 6'11" "shooting guard"? this is a pretty impressive lineup. If they have stamina . . . hmmm. only 4 players averaged more than 30 minutes a game last season.
-- big arena, but the last three games did not draw flies. must have been overcharging.
-- as one who has been around close to forever, the TL history is rather short, but this manager does not waste his time on 1000 dollar dudes.
Interesting bunch -- could cause a lot of teams serious problems.

Flying Tigers:

-- Another long-timer in Div III. Had rough year last year.
-- Balanced squad, no huge salaries. A number of players "best position" is SF -- that means an interesting skill set. It is possible that last season was something of a rebuilding year for this bunch. Only three of 14 players over 24, none over 26.
-- Decent-sized arena, but no sellouts. Has raised some money from the TL, not bunches.
-- Rival is Park Slope, apparently a power house -- not going to make fans happy there.

Killer Bruises:

-- a team that has lived on the thin membrane between Div IV and Div III.
-- big arena, expensive tickets, not sold out. maybe 135000 in revenues, plus tv and merchandise: 185000 a week?
-- salaries about 110,000 a week. Putting away some dough -- or something to pay the scouts with.
-- busy dude on the TL -- 25 million in transactions over six seasons or so.
-- this does not bode well: from what I can tell, the team's strength is in the small men, the guards, the SF. decent center, but big men rare on this squad.
-- 42% FG: have seen better. gave up more than they scored.

Long Finger:

-- another undefeated Div IV team, except for the finals, but did produce an MVP who won all 32 first place votes: M. Barberena, a superduper SF
-- clearly a team build around this star -- shoot, this guy may be this leagues scoring champion. he certainly will play more minutes than he did last season.
-- team has a long history; been up and down between Div III and Div IV
-- most curious TL action yet: never bought a single player, has sold 3 million worth of meat. small arena.
-- I don't know how he pays his bills. Arena pulls in around 100,000, plus TV etc, maybe 150,000. Salaries are 130,000, not much left over for staff, scouting, and so forth.
How broad are Barberena's shoulders?

Park Slope Prospectors

-- 19 - 3 last season. Lost two games in the finals by a total of six points. In other words, a powerhouse.
-- Interesting: team specializes in swingmen, not centers. High salaries, deep.
Best players are reaching peak years.
-- an enormous arena that gets filled; TL not a major source of income, but nothing to sneeze at. I figure 220,000 in arena revenues, minimum of 275,000 each week. Salaries are 165,000 or so plus the staff.
-- another player around since season 2; this may be the year he rises to the promised land.

Wind Riders:

-- 16 - 6 last season; removed from playoffs by Park Slope.
-- began in season 3, has been in Div III since season 4
-- nice depth, 7 players over 10,000, 3 others over 8000. I like depth, but apparently depth has it limits in Div III.
-- how did Penn only play 32 minutes a game? (depth) but the man scores nearly a point a minute. stupid AI coach.
-- team has a good defense.
-- not the biggest arena, a deficit on the TL -- this coach does not have a lot of extra cash. must be developing his players; nice job to do this with several players.
nice squad.
