This happened in my last game too, but I didn't want to say anything in case it was just my mistake, but the player I marked to start at PF has not started the last two games, and the backup starts instead. Bug?

Was he a particularly bad player relative to your others? If your coach thinks so, he may choose to bench him in favor of a better player from your lineup.
