First match of new season, we play a consolation tournament, despite our 4th place we dind't made it to the world cup!

the overall evel of our u21 is slightly lower than past season, but our guys can do their best!
let's look our upcoming opponent:
new zeland as a large roster with 16 guys already called in the u21

Centers and power forwards:6 big guys are of the match, we have to look out Roll, starting C, Emerson and Bedenham, that will struggle to be starting PF.

avg salary: 11514,67
avg gameshape: 7,5

small forwards: a wide selection of small forwards, we will probably face inner or outsider SF depending on their offensive tactic, but Spinks should start despite of his low gameshape.

avg salary: 11352
avg gameshape: 6,75

Guards and point guards:5 guards and one pointguard, the startinjg 2 will probably be Mcguane and Bulbeck...

avg salary: 10621,17
avg gameshape 7,16

in this game I will try a very offensive formation, we wwill have a lower defense, and I am thinking about it, man to man or a zone is not as easy as always.. i hope we can reach a very high offensive rating.. let's see if their HCA is enough to stop us!

MAY THEY FEAR US!

The new season started the best way possible, a great W against New Zeland, we choosed to play and extreme run and gun, that counted on 5 shooters in the starting five, and so even if our opponent choosed wisely his defense he haven't been able to avoid any of our guys some points. infact we had a very equilibrate distribution of shots between the 7 players that played most of the game, kaliasis despite of our outsider attack scored 19 points playing PF, Atmatzidis as always lead us with a huge game, underlined by 23 pts 7 ast and 4 rebs. he had been our MVP, and i guess he will always be if we play an outsider attack.

I really appreciated today's match, he showed me that risk sometime is worth the prize, but I assure you that such basically offensive team won't be repeated too much!

by the way good match! and let's go back to work, we will play against an old "enemy":
eesti, last time we lost, beacause of enthusiasm mainly, and also a bad choose as defense by me, this time I hope to make things work differently!

stay tuned guys, Our big "little cyprus" is on his way!

MAY THEY FEAR US!

Good performance this season (despite the familiar lack of interest in the community...).

Eesti - Cyprus was a very unfortunate loss. We couldn't stop their outside shooters and they obviously hacked the game engine as well ;-)

Piko had a good match despite his low game shape.

The team is on an excellent path!

we have good results, our guys pop every week improving the team averages very well, but we are always a step back from bigger nations such as eesti, against whom we fought throughout 2 and half quarters... then their higher level came out, and closed the game. by the way I'm satisfied of what the guys show, even if the main aim this season is developping a stong team for next european championship in S10

Even with the best management team in NTs and with some committed managers this cannot be fully changed - unless Cyprus grew (insanely) rapidly.

Among the current Top 10 MT Teams only 2 have less than 1000 managers (Chile does an exceptional job with 400something users).

But: an example how to become Top 20 among the U21 Teams is Peru. They have a similar base with only 119 managers! If everybody wants to know the difference, simply take a look at the National Page: http://www.buzzerbeater.com/BBWeb/world.aspx?countryid=56

At the bottom you can easily see that there are hundrets of posts in the threads concerning the NT.

So basically there is nothing that could help the current NT managers more than Community Growth and Community Commitment. Without that there is a clear limit to what you can achieve...

I totaly agree with you and your analysys...
you can see the results of what me and steve make here, the community simple isn't interessed, both in national teem or discussion about BB....
now some GMs closed some new ideas of steve replacing with their ideas that resulted in: NOTHING, with time I hope to see more forum-active users, in forums we can all learn lots on the game, i hope cypriots will do it...

personally I don't know what more can I do :-) if someone has ideas I will be glad to share with him my opinion! I could do more of this, speakin' about tactical strategy or some more playful... but... I don't know what the matter is.

No, just take it as it is and continue your work. I think hardly anyone has tested more ideas than you. And there is appreciation for sure, even if it isn't so visible.

I remember the times when you tried to push the threads daily but I think everybody must accept the Cyprus Community as what it is. It isn't as active as others, that's it. Nothing anybody should be blamed for - neither you nor the Community.

I do not know about Peru, but there is always something behind such a special story. Maybe all managers come from one town, maybe from abroad, who knows. There is no such special story in Cyprus, but nevertheless the success and momentum of the National teams will have some impact. Just don't ask me when. ;-)
