And maybe if we could select which player to scout, we could also know ahead of time what position they play (or at least how tall they are) so we could appropriately scout players we want. Why would a team executive tell his scout to go out and scout a point guard if his team already has 3 really good ones, or if he knows he won't be able to develop the player into a good player?

Don't ask what sort of Chunks they are, you probably don't want to know. Blowing Chunks since Season 4!

I think that's logical but not necessarily a good trade off between resources and playability.

I think the best we can get in the short term is to shift the draft system to some sort of weekly interaction/report.

I'm not especially technically minded but I'd guess that's going to involve a hefty increase in forms being handled by the server anyway (not including transfers).
Instead of submitting three line ups a week plus training, you'd be submitting three line ups plus training plus a scouting brief.
The scouting brief also needs to have a default setting, for those clubs that don't fill it in.

I guess creating a draft in the beginning of the season gives a good chance for a league full of friends to trade info. It prolly would be pretty hard on the servers to keep updating it every week. Perhaps giving you a 3 day window with your draft points at the end of the season to scout the players you want. What happens to the people that can not log on? They will get random scouting?

hmm, the trading info thing pretty much kills the week-by-week reveal idea dead :-(

Excuse me,why I should reveal to someone that I've found a great player for the future, with the risk that someone picks him before than me?There could be some problems only in the case of multi-accounts,but that is punished....

Why would you not share information among 3 players in the league, if you know the others wouldn't get it.

It's too open to abuse.

I think that the problem could be bypassed keeping the players in the list not identified. The same player should have different position in different teams' list. Imagine I've scouted twice the player no. 7 of my draft list: I couldn't pass the informations to my two friends simply because the player in position 7 of their list is a different one.

If you get the height which is logical to be able to learn who is which would not be so hard. You also should have names anyway, why the names are a secret? It is not realistic.

Sharing information is logical. Surely it is a part of the game. It is part of real life. Why is it a problem? Can you even trust the information to you has been given? Easy to mislead and trick it would be. I could scout two players each week but just once do four. When I share my information I share 22 weeks x 2 players and keep the two best secret. This would add lots of options to the game. The scouting could be done on a day when there is nothing now like sunday, monday or wednesday to give yet another reason to log on. More players loging on, more fun, more interest. Is this not good for the game.

If people forget to pick they scout a random unscouted player.

and we already have this and it works pretty much well...

I would go for draft system change into every week scouting system as that would make more sense and would be more useful...

As I wanna scout more then one time just small players (I just do`nt need big ones)...

Getting some info after each week scouting:
1st time age, height and position,
2nd potential and rating balls with mark,
3rd three skils: RB/ID/IDorOD/OD/PA (C/PF/SF/SG/PG)+JS+JR/IS (PG/SG--SF/PF/C)

using 4 scouts system as we have know.
1st would need just one scout to get info
2nd visit could be done just by using 2 scouts on one exact player that week
3rd visit could be done just by using all 4 scouts on one exact player that week

i mentioned it in the past from time to time, the indentifier through high could be avoided in giving it labels like M, L, XL etc. And to be honest this would also be realistic, because it is rarely seen that the high of a basketball player is measured correctly.
