- Offensive settings of each team. If you take jump shots while they pound the ball inside, they're likely to get to the line more often.

I've read this sentence a few times now and am still struggling to get my head around it. I don't expect a run-through but can someone confirm if I am at least thinking in the right direction!

If my team is taking a lot of Jumpshots (ie. I play Motion or something similar) and they 'pound' the ball inside (they go Look Inside/Low Post) they will get more FT's.....

Is that simply because more fouls occur in the paint or because you are likely to be less physical when trying to block a 3point attempt?

I read that over and over as well and still am not sure what it means.
But I think it means that playing inside tactics draws more fouls because that's where more fouls generally occur.

I'm sure it could be a little bit of both but I think the more logical explanation is that a lot more fouls occur in the paint.

It seems pretty straight forward to me and I read this the same way you did.

I think the former is explained by the latter - usually the bodies aren't banging around on the perimeter like they are close to the basket.

Also, a drive to the basket is more likely to end in a foul of some sort - there's almost always going to be some contact in that situation.

Do you guys think a players stamina or lack thereof plays a role in fouling as well ?

Stamina does play a part but indirectly. For example, a player that is more tired, can't defend as well, and so fouls more.

might commit as many as 10 fouls

Does that mean that even if needed on final seconds your team won't commit 11 or more last minute fouls? Or is GE making it impossible as time would run out?

I cannot confirm it. There are some things that are meant to be said and some are for you to discover (read the posts by Yuck, he seems to get the idea).

@ inimene: There is no such limit, try not to read everything so literaly. Charles was only making a point, and a team will foul as much as it needs to.
