I find this in the game manual:
"Offensive Flow (how well the offense produces assists, avoids turnovers): point guard weighted very heavily, shooting guard weighted medium, small forward weighted medium."
Much vaguer.:)

Nothing in that quote even comes close to suggesting that handling is more important for a SF than for a guard. In fact, it suggests the exact opposite.

I can't remember where I got the info on HN for SFs, but I believe in it myself. Sorry if the info is not correct, but no evidence for it NOT being correct also. What do you mean it suggests the opposite?? SG and SF medium, no-one knows the weights of HN vs PS exactly.

Handling is the penultimate skill to search in a SF,worse there is only SB

Ok man, you have facts?

First of all,I build a SF that now plays in ACBB as starter for the team with the third overall record of the league, and I don't train a single week handling as primary skill (5793989)

But,as more important fact, you have to think a minut about what the a SF need.As First thing, you have to give him a primary attack and defence. So,you had to boost him in IS or JS and OD or ID.Then, you have to give him the other main characteristics JR for an outside SF and Reb for an inside SF.When you build his three primary skills, then you have to give him the secondary attack and the secondary defence, and then the other characteristics that he still miss(Jr or Reb)
So,at this point, you have to give him Od-ID-JS-IS-JR and REB.You miss driving, passing, handling, shot blocking(I'm not considering free throws and stamina that have to be at a certain level for all the roles)
Driving help your player to raise his percentages, passing help your whole team in offensive flow.
Do you agree with all the reasoning?
Well at this point remains only handling and shot blocking,so handling become the penultimate skill to search in a SF

I agree in everything you say, my point was just about getting a better Offensive Flow, and the original poster's 2 players.

Am I the only one that thinks that IS isn't that important for SF?

Yes,you are
You can put in some games a player without IS in the SF position, but you can't call that player a SF

As I don't agree at all with the portuguese user,I think your affirmation is not completely right.Every excess is wrong, especially talking about Sfs that are the symbols of the balance and equilibrium
You are not completely wrong, but it depends from the kind of SF you are talking about

I dont agree with looking at game ratings. As there are many factors that create a game rating for a player. I believe I have one of the best SF's and his game rating is lower when playing the SF position on my team compared to the national team. Its due to the talent of the other players, enthusiasm, stamina, GS etc.

I agree with everything else though.

To the OP, i built my SF with more emphasis on ID than rebounding. That was good, but for a great SF but they both need to be at a high level. Looking at your two players though I would go with player one at SF and player two at SG. Thats just my preference.

I second this.

J-Dog pretty much has one of the best SF's around.

I built my SF/PF from inside first, so he's more an inside SF or really well rounded PF.

ID is more important than RB, just for the sake of versatility. You find teams sometimes play a Look Inside using a PF at SF. This can really gimp your team if you need to shift a big to eliminate the mismatch, cause let's face it, most guards can't guard a big.

With a SF with ID and OD, you never have to shift your game plan away from your strengths, as the SF can always guard what's thrown at him.

Rebounding is handy to have on any player though.
