just to update this, we got 3 of those new managers in our league, the got their teams in the last positions, lost all or most of their games, and now it looks like they do not login no more.

Are third division teams stronger than fourth division teams? Basically most of the teams in III and IV started at the same time, no?

Nevertheless I would prefere new teams to start in lower leagues as well. It is financially an advantage to start in III for new teams, therefore not balanced.

Insert new teams low, replace at the end of the season voids with better teams from lower divisions (like in the past).

maybe its random, but we have 5 leaguelevels in germany, so i was thinking they might could change that and put them to lower ones, it makes no difference for me and the others from my league, but maybe for them. just to give them a easier start.

i think that if new teams go to lowers division they will probably get a division of mostly bot teams and maybe that will take the enthusiasm of a new player..

They started at the same time, but the DIII will get more money from the attendance, so more money to buy better players and hire a better staff. I started in DIV in my country, and it was really hard to get a balanced budget at the beginning.

@ Tiago Barradas: yes, that is indeed a downside. But it's that or getting crushed like others fear. At the end of the day it is up to personal preferences of the new manager which "problem" to prefer.

@ Pieriku: correct. But therefore it is so annoying to see new teams being put in div. III whereas the two of us still struggle in IV after quite some time... ;-)

not as much as entering a league mid-season with a record of 1-8 playing against teams much stronger then a newly assigned one

Maybe a list of the new players would help. Then more experiended players could BB mail them to get them started. And give them a few hints how to easily improve their team and game experience.

But as nobody knows who is new (at least in the larger countries) then it is impossible.

It would also help new players feel welcome and it would be an opportunity to tell them to be active in the forums. A nice and active community is something I believe will be important to keep players for some time.

There are many ways to do this. Maybe new users could get automatically their Tutor. They could ask him anything. Or every new manager could get link into help folder (best folder in his mother language). I try to help newbies as much as I can. When they see LA, they are more likely to ask:) But I know only what is written in the rules, because I have translated them.
