Good for you. That's your choice and I'm not trying to say that your decision is good or bad. I am saying that A) points in the paint is not a statistic that is officially kept by any league anywhere so why should it be kept on BB? and that if it is important to you to have it, you can get the information.

Are you trying to say it wouldn't be necessary or beneficial to have points in the paint stats while we have a useless "Role" stat which offers nothing?

Ummm... No, I'm not. Go back and read my post again. I thought I was pretty clear. I said nothing about the Role. You did.

I am certain that just about everything in the supporter package is better than the role stat. Perhaps everyone should get that, and then tell the people who spend the money on supporting the game that all they get is a pointless player role? There's no better business plan than giving away the good stuff and charging for rubbish.

are you trying to say, that the points in the paint stat should be shown at the place of the player roles - or how should i understand your comment?

Points in the paint could be a beneficial statistic to learning about your team and how strategies work, while Role is completely
meaningless.
I can't for the life of my understand why someone would be against Points in the Paint statistic that could actually have some beneficial worth while we have some crap 'Role' addition that provides no worth.

but what they have to do with each other?

Did the developer get the time back he needs for developing the roles, which he could invest for a tool which shows the points in the paint?

No he didn't

Did the remoovement of the feature give you a nice place for the point in the game stats, which fits into the site design?

I think not, and that wasn't your intention too.

Is world peace better then points in the paints or any development in that game?

I think yes, but with this logic we should stop developing everything.

WELL actually, if you go to nba box scores, on nba.com, they have points in paint and fast break points :)

but officially, i dont think its something that you can easily keep track of. Its not an individual stat that is kept, more of a team stat.

I refuse to download third party programs where I need to install software that actually costs money in order to use it.

So maybe you could develop the tool that the guy who spent HOURS developing it, for free, off his own back, maybe you could write it yourself in OpenOffice? That would be great because I dont like using excel either.

Could you post a link, please?

edit:
Just did some googling and found a box score on espn.com that had, down at the bottom, points in the paint, fast break points, and points off turnovers. I stand corrected. Thanks for pointing that out! Do you know how long have they had those stats there?

All the NBA games box scores from last season on nba.com arent working, (probably my work computer not allowing the links)

So here is an espn link.

http://espn.go.com/nba/boxscore?gameId=310225011

Down the bottom right of each teams box score stats, it shows points in paint, fast break points and and team turnovers.

No idea how long these have been kept for. But im pretty sure its only been the last few seasons. I scrolled back to a 2006 game (between the Sonics and Bulls - Ray allen was still playing for sonics at this stage. ha!)) and this page didnt have the points in paint stat.

So it must be a reletively new feature in NBA.
