No need to get upset. Thanks for pointing me to the news post. I forgot it was only 5th/8th place that skipped two weeks of salary.

The week in BuzzerBeater runs from economy update to economy update, meaning that the upcoming economy update is the one in which teams finishing in 5th/8th will pay no salaries and the one after the conclusion of the playoffs will involve all teams paying salaries because of the Saturday game taking place at the start of Season 16.

Since it clearly say's that the economy update is for the upcoming week, How does one receive Weekly Merchandise profit for games that they have not even played yet?

the player wear jersey, but they don't sell them on the court - normally you buy such things in a fanshop and they are open even in a lockout ;)

how would you know how much profit you are going to make in a week before the week even happened?

sometimes cost factored are measured at different dates. Paying salarys in previous might be uncommon, but isn't impossible and get practiced also at some occasions.(or here)

What the BB's haven't told us is that, in the BB universe our teams also hire fortune tellers as staff. No you don't have to hire them yourself, they come with the team. Every Sunday night, they hover over their crystal basketballs and predict the merchandise sales for the next week. They're 100% accurate 50% of the time. Hope this answers your question.

Wages are paid in advance but the merchandise profit is what you got from last week.

I really don't understand why salaries should be paid in advance, it's counter-intuitive and completely against the common practice even in sports.

It's easier to do it that way than have to deal with paying a "last week" salary to players who have been fired/transferred.

I don't quite understand. Before, you didn't have to pay a salary to fired/transfered players. What's to deal with, sorry I don't get it ?
