because i am most likely the most famous team stating that 2-3 works, my guards haven't great OD comparing with the opposition maybe even below average but besides my starting centers myy big guys have good values in OD too.

I think to some degree that might be the key. If you have one or two stellar outside defenders, you might be able to get a steal or two. But if you team works well against the passing lanes AS A TEAM, your opponent cannot find the open guys.
