It's probably both. I have an advanced doctor and I have never had an injury for more than one game.
Both specialties of doctors are useful. Massage really helps if you have minutes issues and taping injuries helps preventing injuries. I believe it's better to have a doctor above level1 but massage is an extremely useful thing, so in my opinion it is better to have a doctor about level 3 who has massage.

I had those exact same injuries with a lvl 5 doctor. Only it was 2 weeks on all 3, and injured at diff times fired him, went to a lvl 1 doctor...

I know its not the doctors fault, but paying him all that money and none were just like a rest of the game or 1 game injury. I just got my starting SF back yesterday, he'd been out since Valentine's day.

The injuries more deal with gameshape not being as sharp, and a lot of minutes. prob stamina factors in somehow(?)

i think it the minutes. also change the way you play the team in certain games. Give the starters a rest uinthe 4th qtr.

Players will get hurt. nothing much a dr can do beside try to heal them up faster. but you have give them a rest and mix up the type of play minutes.

I'd like to add another reason to others already posted: if your player is much better at shooting or driving than the player guarding him is in OD or ID, he will get fouled more and have more chance at being injured.

I witnessed this in current season where I'm training my SG on C. This of course is an extreme because I have been playing him in cup against Centers with 1-4 in OD and he has JS 14, DR 14. But he got injured twice in a row; once just for the game and next time for 1 week. I have a Level 4 doctor.

So if next time you want to field your JS 12, DR 12 SG against a bot in cup and play Patient, think twice

Same thing to me. A week ago my backup PG was hurt and out for 2 weeks. Then in last weeks scrimmage backup SF is hurt and out for two weeks. Then yesterday's game my starting SG is hurt for two weeks.

When players play more than 90 minutes per week, they are very prone to injuries in upcoming games. more often they do, more often they are. Can protect them somewhat by not having them offensive focuses where they get fouled more often... but its a crap shoot. best way to do, get depth, and manage minutes.

in your internal team structure that may fit, that the best offensiv option draws more fouls since he shoot more often, but generally a bad shooting team draws more fouls then an awesome offensive team which slides through defence.(even when the totals are pretty much the same)
