I used to think too that only stats matter for mvp, but i have just changed my mind this season !

One of my player just got named mvp and he is not in the top 10 in any stat category, simply because he has played only about 30-35 minutes per game. But his efficiency/48 minutes is great, by far the n°1 in the league. So he deserved to be named mvp and he got it.

On the other hand, the league leader in points and rebounds who played 48minutes in about every game did not get a single vote.

So maybe mvp voting is not that silly !

If you make your player get a double-double avg for a season and lead the league in both you'll get it.

1. You cannot vote your players to be MVP.
2. The players shown in League Leader page can be selected to be MVP.

Well what if your player is deserving of MVP? It wouldn't be fair that you can't vote just because you own him.

And also I think any player should be accessible to vote. For example, purchased a player that was leading the league in points per game and assists per game, he was also the second highest rated player in the all-star game (because he played SF when he's a PG) and he won the three point shoot out. However, since I bought him later into the season they never showed him in the league leaders because he didn't meet the required number of games to be displayed.

One of my players got the 2nd highest average rating in the world, over 70 FG%, 1st scoring leader (4th in rebounds) in my league, and best efficiency according to buzzer-manager and still couldn't get the MVP. He's only 3rd.

Not saying this isn't the case but there are exceptions. I finished on top at 20-2 and my guy won MVP this season and only averaged 29 minutes a game, didnt finish in the top 10 in scoring, rebounding or assists.

Yeah there are a number of other factors as well, it just seems like minutes is a big factor, because a lot of other ones depend on it (production, how much the fans see the player etc).

Factor
team's record
Stats
Stats per 48 rankings
rating on season/ rating in games

all these factor in.

My league I expected Leon Rushing to win it despite his team being #2 our side, and #5 overall record in league. Because he lead league in reboundings, was top 10 in scoring, and had 1 of the 2 highest ratings per game.

he edged out 133-127 voting on guy on the 20-2 team, #2 team overall in league, 80+K salary center, who was 3rd in rebounding, not top 10 in scoring, and was the other highest rated guy.

if you look just numbers, Rushing should have run away with it. but factor in the team's 6 less wins, and the rating, and boom, barely edged the guy out.

Let's also not forget that the game tends to factor in how likely you are to post complaining about not winning the MVP - the more likely you are to blow your top, the more likely it is that the game will do that just to see you do that. ;)
