I was only kidding. Soccer in the US isn't as popular obviously, but interest is growing. I wasn't a very big soccer fan. I first heard of Rinaldo in 2010, because the girls at my high-school thought he was sexy. I follow the MLS and the USMNT primarily. Love watching inter-national competition.

well there's the "original" Ronaldo, the brazilian one

and the one who plays right now... the portuguese Ronaldo

the original one was just as much a great player, possibly even better

I am, I became a soccer fan after watching the US national team in the 2010 World Cup. I follow the USNT, MLS and the Sacramento Republic FC (local professional team, US third division). I played soccer in highschool. I enjoyed it. Although basketball is my favorite.

International is the worst form of soccer :/

you'll see the best quality at club level in Spain, Germany, England, etc.

i played some myself, i was mostly a right winger/fullback because i was fast, had stamina and i could dribble. The coach tried to play me at striker a few times but it didnt work out cuz i cant play centrally for my life lol.

what position were you?

oh and i played some basketball too.. but not for long

The worst form of soccer...why so? The World Cup is awesome.

I agree with you about the quality of soccer in England, Germany, and Spain...Italy is another good example. No argument there. Although, I hear for Spain, it's a two team league with not much competition behind Barcelona/Real Madrid. I would love to see MLS reach that level of quality.

I played defense. Left/right full back. I wasn't much of a dribbler, but I'm 6-1 and very athletic. I just wanted to destroy who ever had the ball and then get it to the nearest offensive player. I didn't care for scoring goals. I loved playing defense. Haha.

Au contraire Spain has many good teams, dont let the dominance of Barca and Real Madrid fool you. Teams like Valencia, Sevilla, Villareal, Atletic Bilbao and Atletico Madrid would be top 4 contenders in any league. Spanish teams play the best technically sound type of game, which would give them an advantage in places like England.

Real madrid and Barca are just so good the rest of the league looks bad ;)

and international soccer is mostly a defensive cautious boring battle. The World Cup is awesome though yes, but the quaiity of play in international is worse. That said, those players dont play together as much as they would with their teammates for their club teams... so the chemistry isnt there as much.

Ha, sounds like you would've made a good central defender not a fullback. My passing and shooting was never that good, i just ran down the line and ran past people and crossed it in to a striker

Interesting view. I haven't actively followed any foreign league, so I'm in no position to offer an opinion obviously. My information comes primarily from word of mouth by fans, or ESPN and online.

A Spaniard I was well acquainted with, whom was a fan of a La Liga team not named Barcelona FC/Real Madrid, didn't like the disparity of the league. He said it was in poor taste compared to the EPL. How would you compare/rank the top professional soccer leagues in the world? And how do you view the MLS? I know the MLS is viewed poorly to many soccer fans, but it seems the quality and interest of the league is growing.

Well, I'm a fan of good defense. Haha.

I would agree. The American soccer system isn't the best for learning, especially at the high school level.
