ok interesting, should i put more money into the draft then? i've started with 7 points, and 0 scouting done? shall i put 2 points a week in it & discover more?

So height makes a massive difference in the learning of skills too? is it that big?

Do not scout this season. That is, do not use the points and yeah, it may be wise to start putting some money to increase the initial allowance. I have never scouted unless I had one of the first 3 picks and LOTS of points (like 80+).

There is value in investing in the draft but only if you have a high chance to actually get the best prospects in it. The best chance for you would be after you promote and presumably fight not to relegate in D2. I drafted this guy (41118782) without relegating (before they changed the relegation system, so I could have the 2nd pick and still play the relegation series) and when I drafted this guy (47035117) I pulled the same stuff (piloted to the best draft pick without relegating directly), but lost the relegation series. Consider that a 5 ball potential prospect can be MVP, HoF or ATG potential, so I have been quite lucky to get these 2 (especially the second, since he was my second choice and my first choice turned out to be an MVP).

In a bot league it may also make sense because bots will pick at random, so you actually have a high chance of getting several of your top selections.

Those players i can train on 3 things (inside defence, jump shot & inside shot) because it's the 3 main attribute of all those players, so i could keep them for a good period of time! So training those 5 players for the short term future.
JS, DR and RB are the only skills that naturally are 2-positional for training purposes. For training regimes that are 1-positional, if you use the 2-position option the training will be around 2/3 of the full amount (so significantly slower). Since 5*2/3=10/9, you can get slightly more overall training, but in reality you'll be hooked up for longer and it's likely the players are not gonna be worth a lot on the transfer market because they will not compare favourably with other players of the same age.

As other have said: train 3 players after you are done with the 2 position training (namely 1 on 1 and JS if you go that way after 1 on 1). The main advantage of having 5 (or 6) is that you can pick the better ones.

Look, you just need bodies to beat bots. So unless you want to promote and need to beat some human managers, you may safely keep your starting players or build a team of 2-3k salary players.

If you are set on these trainees, then I would suggest to train them for 2/3 seasons and aim to make them some solid backups for higher leagues. It's probably a good idea to have a first go as a rehearsal.
