I still do not understand

So gym is basically useless because

a) You get pops but in unwanted skills, eg: Reb
b) It takes away salary space from Bigs and Guards
c) The money invested in the gym will be much more worth it if invested in a complete player

Is this right?

you need to look at the "type of pop" because as Alonso also mentioned that, you can either have:
- a pop from cross training which has nothing to do with Gym (one example is, OD is also gives a little bit to HA and DR and middle amount to ID)
- a pop from gym`s effect which is at level 3 a random 10% skill (so it is like if we stick with the OD and you also got a pop in RB)

In overall I would say it is worth the investment if you are maximizing the training and this is an important thing for you.
If you are under pressure like U21 and you "only have 4 seasons" to get the best possible out from your people it matters.
If you are a type of person who like to maximize the effect irrespectively from U21 or NT still worth it.
If you are just training in an ad hoc type basis, because you got an MVP draftee and you think ahhh I got an MVP, I got an MVP I must train him now, I do not think in this it is worth it.

But lets talk in numbers because I ve had gym for 4 seasons and didnt notice any tangible effect

How many pops can I expect from gym? Or in % how much % does it give in 1 season overall? And 3 seasons?

Because I noticed some random stamina pops and I definitely dont need this waste of money for 1 stamina pop and 1 reb pop a season

Edit:Youth trainer should be enough right?

My experience:
2 seasons and 5 pops of CT with gym 3.

Is there any data how many pops of REB gym lvl 3 add in entire career of guards ? 10 or 12 seasons of training.


On one instance, i got +2 rebounds with cross training. Bear in mind it can be +1.01, and that it can be mainly cross training.

gym is definitely worth it IF you know how to pick your trainees. Your logic is a flawed. The cross pops without the gym are not even close to what the gym gives you, especially untill 22 YO

If u want to train guards then you look for guards with low REB and SB anyway, it doesnt matter if you have gym or not ...buying guards with mediocre or high level REB is just plain stupid.

dont forget that the cross training is random, so u must be really unlucky to get 3-5 pops on REB/SB from the gym only. If u train a 18 yo guard with strong REB then the fault is on you not the gym

That is valid in the context of general training, but if you train for NT or especially home-grown then you can't really choose your player's level of RB, can you?

And also - why is SB bad for guards?
