I think autobid will make rise up the prices, expecially for those players expiring during the less busy hours. It will be more difficult to catch a player at his starting price.

Given the fairly unrestricted nature of being able to autobid on multiple players and your autobids not forcibly reserving the full max amount and restricting what you can put on other players, I expect that if autobid gets widely adopted, you're correct and autobid will probably make BB auctions behave more like a sealed bid second price auction: (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vickrey_auction#:~:text=A%20...)

And yes, if widely adopted this should be expected to "normalize" player prices between listing times & days, and probably raise the overall prices a little since now bidders can bid their full valuation on the player without having the "winner's curse" of paying a bunch for a player that nobody else really valued anywhere near that high, instead only paying 2% more than the next highest valuation.

But it does also serve to make BB more accessible to people who can't otherwise spend lots of time on the game at a specific time to deal with the end of an auction. And obviously the majority of that extra money being spent on players now is going to go to the selling teams (aside from FA and taxes, yes, but those sinks can be adjusted by the developers as needed if they're siphoning too much money out of the economy), so it's not money that's lost and gone, it's just circulating in the economy more and helping drive demand for other players from those sellers that are now getting more.

Why if I set an autobid value, the bid is higher then the starting price (no bid yet)? It seems that it is a bug?

I´m just waiting for all that mass of people inside 42% against autobid that treat to leave the game, if the feature was implemented eventually

That kind of argument seem to be very unfair and childish. their standpoint was "I think we should do A... so if you vote/decide B... I´m not playing". In other words, " we play my rules or we don´t play at all"

I´m not discussing other arguments which I don´t agree to but at least I respect. But if you go to "democracy" and lost you should be able to accept the result.

Right now the way you can tell is that you see the bid is on the same exact time stamp of yours.

Not only is it at the same time, it is currently your bid. Is that the intent? I think intuitively, it should allow you to put in your bid, and then if there is an autobid that can outbid over that 2%, then it would apply that bid.

I would have prefered a limitation of max 1 autobid on player and staff at the same time too. I'm ok with autobid but not as free as it is now. It's open door to trading; you can set as many autobids as you want just under the real value of the players, and the ones you get you can put them on sale at a higher price. I'm not very fan...

I'm still waiting for a penalty for the players on TL again and again at a too expensive price...

Joe

Yep. And even if auto-bid smooths out the prices and reduces bargains, traders can still profit because they make their money fleecing with inflated sales prices.

So I agree on both counts, some sort of limit on auto-bids and penalties for repeatedly listing on the TL. But it's a nice surprise to see it implemented.

I'm not totally against autobid, but I do want limitations put on it. It's something that can easily get abused of and I wouldn't be surprised if someone has already found ways to circumvent the system.

The new system has already boosted prices in the technical staff market. Before you could get a superior trainer with a $20 000 salary for about $5 000. This last days I've seen auto bids for as much as $400 000. Teams with low resources are doomed...
