A couple bad losses will tank your attendance, and if you have thin margins, it can kill you.

I had a run of bad luck with game shape this year (or in a less responsibility-deflecting way, I forgot to set a few scrim lineups), and I lost games I should have won. That was a 100k/week swing in income, which I very could not afford. Had to get really creative.

Lost a few when my guys took 30 PFs vs like 10, which ... I know there is a hidden aggression rating, but come on. Lousy 11-11 season overall.

Sounds like you were in even tougher shape, but you avoided relegation. Time to retool.

I retool every season and try to train at least 2 guys
But if you start on the road it's almost death
no home game week one
So you don't get paid and you're already facing unhappy fans if you lose

Looking at the records I think quite a few teams will be mad at how the season went... I know I am

Yeah I don't see how I recover if I don't have a first week home game
The relegation third game was the ultimate killer

If I don't have a chance and I'm in the playoffs, I sell and recoup the week before the playoffs
Then week two, you don't have to pay salaries and collect a few hundred thousand
That million or so sits there before week one every season to offset starting the season in the red
and not being able to get out of it without selling someone you don't want to.

This is the first time that's happened to me in over 50 seasons
I did hold on to my best player until age 35 now so his skills will be going soon

And it's probably time (Forced) to do the inevitable
Complete re-tool

I'm going to say some losses I took because a player was training was quite impactful
but Friday's training results are easily the best part here for me

Anyway, best of luck all in new season as Slug Bugs gun for a second three-peat
which would give them SIX in all. One more than the Gunners
