and make all the timeouts last thirty "real life" seconds. it ain't fun to stand there waiting for the last dreaded shot… you wait, you wait, then you go all "wtf, I'll go grab a glass of water" and before you're back everything's done. :(

Or then there should be some kind of a counter like there is between the quarters and during the half-time.

Occasionally, if you reload the page during a timeout, the game clock counts down the length of the timeout to the current in-game time, so it's easy to tell when the action is going to start again.

(There's probably a better way of saying this - I can't explain things to save my life.)

There's also probably a better way to introduce that kind of a feature. :)

This is exactly what I think every time my coach calls a timeout. I salute you, sir!

Right. So this happens again, except now my coach sits idly through a quarter which I lose 8-22. Hello?

edit: Let's recap: in the second half, my team went from up 4 to down 10, then back to down 5 and to down 10 again without the coach calling a single timeout.

Of course, the opposition called a TO the first time I managed to put back-to-back hoops in the fourth. I am somewhat outmatched in terms of players in this game, but is there any particular reason why my coach is trying so hard to throw the game for me?

for real

nba needs to follow soccer's lead here and breakaway from the american sport tradition of breaks, timeouts, tv timeouts, reviews, naps (thats for golf), etc..

Let them play, screw the timeouts!

um... i hate to be honest, but i think the reason we put in timeouts with realistic lengths was a) to be realistic and keep the real time feel of the matchviewer and b) so that maybe we would put in a video ad for non supporters during these timeouts. that idea has never materialized.. but if the economy keeps taking we might need to go there.

no its not always about money... but we do have to keep the site running and our developers paid, which isnt easy in this economy... ad revenue slumping, etc.
