I read that next season there will be higher salaries for international superstars.

You did not.

Stated in the news? Well I like this change it makes you train more of your own countrymen!:P

Well, if you want to train your countrymen you can do it without problem, the change just puts a limitation in those that don't care about the nationality while giving those that do no new possibilities. Basically the change jus limits the game. I think that's booring.

You think it's boring? Nice argument. Usually the guy who has the chance to play at his home country asks for less money. Legionares usually cost more. As you have a salary formula in BB that is closely related to skills then tax is the only way to raise salarys for the legionares. Nobody likes to train NT members, this adds just some more twist to the game. Don't worry your swedish extreme top prospects will still be taken by top teams:)

There are no drafts in Europe in RL. Should that be changed in BB to reflect this? Arguing by RL is useless, not everyting from reality should be implemented, the main prurpose should be variety of options and fun. For example you could make clubs from some countries richer at start because it is like this in real life. We can have simulation, but since managers joined game with no bounderies to succes it is no an option anymore. The last sentence was rhetorical not a comment about newly announced change - just to prevent confusion.

This - as announced - brings nothing to the game, only limits some options (it doesn't matter how much).

Yes, I think it is the most important factor od them all and I am quite comvinced that a BB needs to be as enteraining as possible to survive in the long run. (I have more elaborated answers why it is a bad idea in global tread. No need to cross posting I think)

Usually the guy who has the chance to play at his home country asks for less money. Legionares usually cost more. As you have a salary formula in BB that is closely related to skills then tax is the only way to raise salarys for the legionares.

In RL it is often the oposite once you get to the top players in the top leagues. Out of two equally good players the american will tend to get a higher salary in the NBA than the foreigner, just like the eqaullay talented swedish player would normally earn more than the american in Sweden (not that there are to many Swedes that are good enough to compete with the random american bb player:).

Legioners tend to get higher salaries because they seek them selves to the team that pays them most. They couldn't care less if the team is domestic or foreign. It just happens that in most cases there are much more places where they will be foreigners than native. In some cases, e.g. for american bb players, the best market happens to be the domestic market. Thus the best americans tend to play there, while those that are not good enough seek there fortune in Europe (and the worst will do it in Sweden where they will become big stars).

Nobody likes to train NT members, this adds just some more twist to the game. Don't worry your swedish extreme top prospects will still be taken by top teams:)

I am not worried at all about the NT team, I actually couldn't care much less about the NT. Even if I did I would not care at all if the NT players where trained in Sweden, Pakistan, or anywhere else. There is a reason why so few vote in the NT elections (I actually do); most people simply don't care about them, so introducing a "feature" that will affact most teams negatively to possible improve the experience for those that like the NT makes little sence.

Europe kind of has a draft teams create new players in lower leagues or farm teams. But that is a different point. Draft is implemented the way it suits BB. Yes you can not take everything to from RL to BB. But this salary tax is something that can be added. Are you saying BB is not trying to make this game more realistic. I think trying to keep players in their respectable countrys is a great plus. I started from div4 and I bought many players from outside if there would be tax I might of trained a few players more that were estonians. Most of the great teams have international lineup and I think it's nice that they pay tax for every noncountryman! I also think it helps lower leagues to compete and will take the advantage revenue away from the smaller less competitive nations.

I don't agree. Arguing from RL is essential, for instance if a sixth player, let's call him "goalie", would be in the BB line most people would deslike it, because it is not realistic.

With that said, RL in itself is not the only argument. One must look at "game play" too (for instance your example) and judge if it is a good idea to be true to RL in the particular case or not. Thus, I don't agree with your first statement, but I do agree with your conclusions.
