does adding a 33yo qualify as a youth movement for your squad?
That's their new ballboy. Seriously, you think Hassan would put someone that inexperienced on the court?

I found that list interesting in seeing that many of the newer NBBA teams are from season 19, but none from after that season yet. The takeaway being that these days it takes well managed teams 20 seasons to get to the top league in this game. Which is 5 literal years.

Good point.

the thing i've noticed is that new teams rarely are the powerhouses they were 10, 12 seasons ago. once upon a time, promotion teams could very well win the NBBA title in their second season. (Upsyndrome, Golden Horde; Tucumcari took two seasons) Tar Team may have set the pattern now: promote, spend a season here, go back to DII, then return, reloaded and more powerful. The SF and GS Warriors may be on the verge of doing the same thing. with TL prices being what they are, and training taking a geological age, i think it is really hard to build a superior, long-lasting team, a dynasty.

The salary floor hikes in s34 and s37 along with the loss of the cheap TL prices of the seasons 20s may have put a damper on this golden age of playing everything right to make a powerhouse team. Tanking still can happen, but it isn't near as effective as it used to be. I suspect my experience isn't unusual where by the time you get/train the right players and get that NBBA promotion those players are 1-3 seasons away from skill losses, you have no money left in the bank to adjust anything, and your players are worth half of what a younger replacement costs.

(Would like to point out I had to look up when those salary floor raises were. I'm nerdy for this game, but not that nerdy.)

(Would also like to point out that I would have likely promoted to NBBA in s32 except I had the fortune to match up against an ascendant Upsyndrome in the DII finals.)

(Have I mentioned I hate Upsyndrome?)

that's a given. i was in his conference for the three seasons when he was unbeatable. some of my better teams, too, not that it mattered. no trophies then. Desert Storm had the good fortune to be in the other conference and at least raked up three silvers -- but we both never had a chance against Upsyndrome's NT.

Lol FCP owned me.

Makes me feel a little better that I clinched the auto-demotion after Footpath's win regardless of the result of our game tonight.

Gave it the ole college try with a ~salary flloor payroll, but it looks like it's back to II for me. At least I made a lot of money and got some good training in this season. Hopefully that'll let me bounce back quicker than most demotees.

But somewhere in there they complained about running PTB for the 5th time in a row.

something about old dogs and new tricks. Long Leach won't reach that point for another thirteen seasons.
