i don't think so..
i'm familiar with Excel automation and new versions will be based on that too..

Maybe you could create .csv file with data from the first sheet only? That way OpenOffice users to create pivot tables on their own. I know it's not as good as .xls, but it would give them some starting point at least.

Just a thought...

Excel is being used in every process from the start..

I understand. I've never done OpenOffice automation either.

i don't know how this Play-By-Play text looks like in BB-API though..

I asked about it in BBAPI forum before - PbP is not avaiable.

BTW, here's a pivot table that I often create in addition to those you made available (fields in this order):

Top: Shot range, Result
Left: Shot by, Defended by
Middle: Result

It's a big table, but gives a nice shot/defend/success overview. Variations are also possible (for exampe: Pass from instead of Defended by).

big tables didn't look useful to me..

In that case, you can focus on total columns/rows or put just one field to the left (Shot by or Defended by). I didn't meant to say that big table is better than small ones, but sometimes I like to see more details about individual players and match-up pairs.

Could you create a quick overview page with some of the totals from both home and away team?
