that was an amazing quarter. if you were watching, the mood swings must have been extraordinary -- from confidence, to disbelief, to near panic, to blissful relief. looking over the entire game, the first period gave an indication that the fourth could happen -- but, still, 30 points in quarter!

you have done very well with a really challenging B3 schedule. six teams ranked in the top 100 globally, including one in the top 10! i had my easiest draw yet -- all teams but one ranked outside of the top 100. i hope you can squeeze in the next round, but i always came up just short with 2 losses. good luck!

I am playing a $300K payroll team, whose best player is coming off the bench and we are tied at halftime. Either a huge second half for my team is coming, or we suck even worse than I thought!!

I haven't given up on your boys tonight—it's been close all night—but it is looking bleak. My fingers are crossed for you as you head into the last minute,

Pappy

dang, they shot 3s like the Warriors -- or a team from Brazil --

the best spin i can put on the game is that you made some coach really, really happy, by beating the #7 team in the nation.

Sometimes I just don't get this game... Kirk Jones got 69 minutes last week and I trained Gameshape as well. On both weeks, he stayed at respectable and had a 900,000 something DMI.

I get the fact there's a sense of randomness in the GS calculation, but c'mon already. The randomness factor shouldn't outweigh what I can control on my end as a manager.

Or maybe Kirk Jones has an atrocious level work ethic and was eating cheeseburgers all week instead of getting in shape. Either way, I'm not very pleased with the situation.

Thanks for the encouragement Pappy :-)

Yeah Hassan, their 3 point barrage made little sense...My OD isn't great, but certainly good enough to shut down a D3 team with no clear great players. Tonight's win makes that Cup loss even more frustrating....Certainly thankful to get a win tonight against such a great team....but such a win just shows that on even effort, even on the road that team shouldn't have even competed in that game. Ugh!

That said....must have been some outlet pass to get an inside shot attempt after a defensive rebound with 2 seconds left in the game:

4 0:02 86 — 86 L. Huainan (A) goes up strong for an inside shot, guarded closely by B. Pekak (H). Shot missed.
4 0:02 86 — 86 The defensive rebound is snapped up by A. Hafidi (H).
4 0:00 86 — 86 B. Pekak (H) tries a driving layup
4 0:00 86 — 86 L. Muaziz (A) is called for a shooting foul.

4 0:00 86 — 87 Free throw made by B. Pekak (H).
4 0:00 86 — 87 K. Šcegauskas (A) substituted for N. Fontanellas (A) at PG.
4 0:00 86 — 87 R. Pequeño (A) brought in for L. Muaziz (A) at PF.
4 0:00 86 — 88 B. Pekak (H) gets the free throw to go.
4 0:00 86 — 88 End of period.

Muaziz was going to make a LeBron-type block on Pekak and ended up nearly breaking Pekak's neck -- or so say the refs. My guys looked at the replay and saw a clean block. Of course, i can't say anything or i will be fined by the league.

Actually, my boys choked big time -- you deserved the win. Congratulations. Your old farts got one more great memory -- there's not too many more.

I will never agree that Muaziz didn't nearly decapitate Pekak...Only a blind person would say there was no contact on the play...Now, whether or not the contact occurred before the clock expired...well, that's a completely different conversation that our Lawyers have advised us to not comment on.

I was convinced I was going to see Low Post or Patient from you...When you pulled away in the 4th quarter after a super close game throughout, I regretted making a GDP guess. I expected one of those tactics all week when I gave our game thought, but left GDP blank until about 15 minutes before game time. So glad that didn't cost me.
