i dont get what everyone is freaking about :(

where talking about 10% of training going to a random skill

so unless that skills sub level is insanely high and almost about to pop you are not going to see a change.

we all ready pay salary for sub levels so where talking about a very minimal rise in any salary due to a unwanted pop.

realistically the only issue is that training will be 10% slower in the areas we want to train, this will most likely cause an imbalance in national teams as players will take longer to catch up to the old style trained players.

so i expect to see older players in national teams sticking around longer , making it harder for new comers to break into there nationals teams.

Us BBers don't like change, especially change that slows down something we have grown accustomed to. It is as simple as that.

Having said that, I'm not exactly a proponent of this new system, but good managers will adapt and make use of it. Bad managers will not. Simple as that.

I don't know if any of the BBs have answered this and I can't imagine it hasn't been asked, but I don't remember seeing it, so here goes:

We know that the 10% lost from primary training is moved to a random skill, essentially. But was there an announcement as to whether the 10% used for the secondary is based on 10% of the training effect of the primary or 10% of a normal training on the secondary? For example, a 6'0 PG training OD and selected for 10% in ID -- if it's based on the primary skill, the 10% would be much more effective than 1/10 of an ID training thanks to the height being useful for the primary, but if it's based on 10% of training the secondary, the height would drag it down.

I said it before, I am saying it again!
I do not think that the cross-training affect is... random.
The purpose for cross-training was for players to become more balanced.
That means that the skills that will pop, are the ones that will help the specific player to become more balanced.
Someone will say that he trained something and he popped a skill that was not very low. I agree... but maybe that was the skill the specific player needed to become more balanced.
I believe that we should let this season pass, and at the end we will be able to know if it was better or not.

i totally agree with you, the training system is really broke now.

i dont want pops in skills that add alot to the total salary for a certain player. like SB for a Big, PS for a PG or JR for a SG.

(have to say i didnt read the whole forum post)

God, what are you so mad about, that extra portion of training you'll get in those "super-expensive" skills is tiny tiny tiny...
Even if you get a pop in such a skill it won't matter a lot salary-wise because the sublevel was very high before anyway.

If you argue that some skill combinations don't make much sense on the first view, fair enough. But the salary argument is not worth the trouble.

1 extra pop can make a huge difference. sit down with the salary calculator and calculate 15 IS, 15 ID, 15 RB and 15 or 17 SB for a big...

with the old system if you stop at 4 times 15, and train outside skills everything would be cool, now if you are unlucky you get maybe 2 SB pops extra. that makes a very big difference.
