Hello guys, I am sorry for not writing for a long time but I've been busy preparing for the New Year, I was traveling and couldn't write any introduction or game summary. However, I am back and working with my full capacity.
To remind all of you, our team played against Poland last Monday and lost by 39 points. :O
Polish players were really "legendary" and demonstrated world-class basketball against our team. Luckily, we all knew that we didn't have 1% chance against one of the strongest BB nations ever.
These are the ratings of that game :
(22789)

I have to say that I am very satisfied with our game shapes for tomorrow and that is the aspect in which we are even better than our opponents, Uruguay.
We will give our best not to lose by huge difference in that match.
I'll write an introduction tomorrow.

Best regards

The third phase of WC brings us to Uruguay, a country which is ranked at the 10th place in the World ranking. This NT has one very experienced user for a manager and a big number of players of high quality. However, they have also achieved slightly bad start of their campaign - their record is 0-2 with two losses against Poland and Iran. Their +/- difference is currently -21 and is 32 points ahead of us.
When it comes to our today's opponent generally, Uruguay is one of the most successful American BB nation with 7 medals - 6 of them mark Continental Semi-finalist title and the last one is the silver one - won at the American Championship in Season 21. Their community is bigger than ours, they have bigger base of potential players and that's why they are currently better than us.
However, we have some important characteristics which put as ahead of Uruguay today. We have better Game Shapes and Enthusiasm. I don't know if this is enough for a victory today but I doubt it. Their roster is much better, their salaries are much higher and may indicate better skills. This, however, doesn't have to be the case. Our goal is to try to lose below 15 points. This doesn't mean that we aren't going to try to win this. We will try to win every possible game but I don't want to make you believe something that is unlikely to happen. The excellent thing is the fact that we've played against those tough opponents before and now we entered the phase when we can actually beat our opponents.
One of the main Egyptian characteristics, defense, doesn't seem to function properly during the WC. We have conceded the most points in the tournament, 251, in two matches which is simply too much. Whole week we've been practicing defense at our training sessions. Hopefully, it will be better as easier opponents come.
The team captain, Jibril Abu-Mansour, was asked to give a review on today's game :

"An atmosphere in our team is still good, we didn't let our team spirit fall after horrific loss against Poland. We are professionals and we all know how to handle the pressure. We respect our opponents but want to win our games. Uruguay has been doing excellent at American championships for years and they are probably counting on one easy win against us. We will do our best to prove that the last game was just our bad day."

Be proud, Egyptians, be proud of this fantastic squad !!

Our NT achieved one sensational win today against very tough opponent, Uruguay. It was a fantastic match, very interesting since the very beginning and it eventually led to the Overtime. Then, these fantastic guys showed huge character and gave us hope of possible qualification to the next round. What is most spectacular about this victory is the fact that it was achieved with smaller effort than that of our opponents. The colleague, Gonza8 of Uruguay, tried tricking us with Princeton. When I found out that, I was especially afraid of their possible three-pointers but our guys managed to play excellent outside defense.
Having conceded 4 out of 22 three-pointers which is 18% sounds like amazing defense to me.
Anyway, our best guys today were Rahman, Yousef and unexpectedly - Qamar Ibn Omar who got called up for the squad just yesterday. I also have to mention the contribution of Qasim Mansoor Omar, who was shooting 100% today.
Our next games are Hong Kong and Iran respectively. I will give my best to win these games because I find that possible. It becomes even more important if we take Iran's victory against Spain today into consideration.

I am really glad for having possibility to write such a summary here and I hope that we will continue in this tempo by winning some of our following games.

Guys, get ready for one of the most important match in Egyptian BB World Championships so far.
Our team is going to face Hong Kong, one extremely squad, today. This is a true derby, especially because our guys play against one of the rivals for the second phase of competition. However, this wasn't our goal before the start of the competition but we will try to make one more step.
Hong Kong is one more BB nation with lots of medals on its front page, this country has won 3 continental finalist titles and 4 continental semi-finalist titles. They are still waiting for their first continental title.
The team has played pretty well at the WC so far, they have the same score as we, but much better point difference, -15. This factor might show as crucial in the struggle to reach the second phase. Generally, they have some problems with the Game Shape throughout the whole competition and this might be our advantage in this match-up.
However, Misr really has excellent game shapes again, thanks to the careful managers. The players were celebrating their victory against Uruguay only those 3-4 hours after the game and then got back to their training immediately.
The manager, Tarikz, said :

"Yes, this was an excellent victory but we mustn't get carried away, we have two more games to win for Uruguay game to become important. All of our players are in good mood and can't wait for the game to begin. I haven't decided my lineup yet and I will tell my decision to all the players just before the game. I want all of them to be prepared. When it comes to our opponent, Hong Kong is really strong team but they also have some negative aspects and we will try to get advantage of them."

Winning this game will be extremely important for our team, join us on chat at 19.30 to make it easier for our players.

We are the best!

Unfortunately, we failed to win against our rival for the 4th place, Hong Kong. It was a really tough and interesting match, where one ball possession was a deciding factor. Unfortunately, Hong Kong took advantage of that possession and claimed one more victory. Currently, three teams pass into the second round : Poland, Spain and Hong Kong (they will play Uruguay which has extremely low enthusiasm). The fourth team will be either Iran or Egypt. That will be decided in the next match. We need a victory by 10+ points of difference. That would probably be possible to achieve.
Anyway, I will give a short summary of this match. Our team played pretty good throughout the whole match and we simply started making turnovers in the last minute of the match. Our rivals were concentrated and smart enough to achieved a victory here. Our best scorer tonight was Qabil Abzari, which is pretty interesting. He turned out to be are leader in this game. However, we mustn't forget Rahman Omer El-Ibrahim, with 21 scored points.

P.S. Please, take care of players' Game Shapes. That aspect would be extremely important for us if we want to see our name in the next round.

Our NT plays an extremely important match against Iran today, maybe even the last one during this WC. However, we hope that this won't be the case. We have to achieve a victory by more than 10 points of difference. This is possible even though Iranian players have extremely good game shapes. Luckily, our players are well covered in that aspect too. I want to say thank you to all of the managers, who respect the situation we are in.
Anyway, I thought I'd write something about our match and our rival.

Iran is less successful BB nation than Hong Kong, but this doesn't mean that they are less dangerous. They have two silver medals from the continental championships. They came here through the Repechage, where they achieved first place in one very tough group with France, Colombia and Senegal. They currently have two victories in this group, against Spain and Uruguay. I think that this is good sign for us to be more than careful here.
Iran has excellent game shapes throughout whole the championships and this is one of the main reasons for their success so far. I hope that our team will finish with more success eventually.
However, they have some weaknesses and we will try to exploit them in the best possible way.

Asked about his view of today's game, the best Egyptian player - Rahman Omer El-Ibrahim said :

"We are aware of the importance of this game, today's win would be the best result in Egyptian history of WC appearances.
We will try to bring some joy to our people and let them know that we love representing them. I am sure that all of players think exactly the same."

The captain, Jibril Abu-Mansour, said :

"I completely agree with Rahman, this might be hard but not impossible. We are professionals and we will do or job in the best possible way."

These words mean that they are ready for the game, wish them all the best and hope that Egypt will find its spot among the best 8 teams of the world.

The game starts at 19.30, try to join me on chat.

We are the best!
