the key difference is that the Blizzards/Vivendis of the world would have had a 'we are looking into this' message up hours ago.

They also have the resources (ie. 100's of programmers and admins working all hours of the day).

Look at things with a bit of perspective here.

such a message is up. I agree with the others...as long as it is updated before gametime, there really isn't a problem It's a matter of managing expectations. If the manual said that training would update by 15:00 local time, and some weeks it happened at 13:00 local time, everyone would be saying "wow, this is amazing, it is two hours early!!!!!"

Look at things with a bit of perspective here.

for my money, that is exactly what I was doing. if you dont have the resources to adequately run a game across all time zones, dont do it, or at the very least make it clear to your customers that they should only expect to see any kind of support within standard Boston office hours (and then only in between meetings when the BBs have some time away from their 'real' jobs).

what got my knickers in a twist, to use your expression, was the premise that the latter would be deemed an even close to reasonable excuse for a poor support structure on something marketed as a global game.

Let's make it clear. You don't pay any money. You "click on some ads", but you don't pay any money.

They try and fix problems as soon as they possibly can. It's not like they wait days to let us know.

Again, they are doing the best they can with what they have. If it means having to wait 2 hours before we find out what's going on, then so be it. They don't have 1000 admins looking after the site and they don't have the ability to work on things right away, but they try. That's the most important thing, they try, and they care about the game. I don't think they get any pleasure out of these delays, but all they can do is say sorry, fix the issue and hope it doesn't happen next time.

People expecting an explanation 5 minutes after something is delayed are being a bit optimistic.

I know a simple solution for this "bug". write the time in weekly schedule as interval.

I liked the bit where he claimed he was paying them by clicking on the occasional ad.
