Yesterdays game was a desaster and the reason was my "do or die" line up.
The situation was clear: if we win, we will play the k.o. games. if we lose we are out. So I played with the highest possible input. The game shape of our players was ideal for LI. That's the good side... Now the bad one. Russia had home court advantage, a higher enthusiasm and also an extremly high game shape. I was pretty sure that they would play LI. But after I read the post from the russian NT today, it's clear why they played Motion. It's their strongest tactic and they tried to hid it as long as possible. The idea was to keep it until the k.o. games but because they were in the same "do or die" situation like us, they played it against us.
With the wrong GDP and a weaker outside game because of the choosen line up, our OD was completly rooted.

I'm pretty disappointed in my decissions from the last games. Other NT coaches already said, that our schedule was everything but easy and it was a big surprise for them that the team could perform on this level. But for me it has little comfort. The two loses cost us 22 pts in the WR and we dropped to teh 20th rank. The five teams with surpassed us are only a few point ahead of us and we can still get them until the end of the season... But still, the outcome is lower than last season.

For the next games, I will try to get as many WR points as possible. Sweden has to rise up to the third group again. With this the european championship could be easier next season.
And if you guys want, I would candidate again as the NT coach.

Your engagement really drives up my own interest for the national team so you've got my vote for NT coach.

Strong performance and engaging write-ups that help me understand the game better.

Very unlucky for the last 2 games, but the performance before that has been flawless, I am happy to vote on you again.

Love the posts, and even if we dont write alot, I am sure we are alot of people reading and looking forward to the NT games and posts.

You will of course be supported for a candidacy. Can't really see how there could be a stronger candidate. I am very happy with the work you have done! Only weakness is that Wedling still has not been playing in the team (I do of course know that he still is too poor for a spot )

Finland is loosing a lot of points and my prediction would be, that The Czech Republic will surpass them and move up to the first group. The second group is pretty solid. They are way behind the first one and still ahead with a proper margin of the third one. But the margin gets smaller and smaller.
The third and fourth group is the main battlefield in Europe currently. There is so much dynamic that one loss can result in dropping by five ranks, and one win gives you a leap up to four or five ranks. Starting with Hungary (14) and going down until Bosnia&Herzogovina (24) it's one huge mess
And we are in the middle of it. Tomorrow we will play against Pakistan. My target is to beat them as high as possible and see how many points we can get. According to the result, I will decide on the remaining games. The most important point is now to get back to the third group and set up an easier draw for the european championship next season.

And we are up again. The win against Pakistan resulted in +3.6 pts and a rise by three ranks. With this we are back in group 3.
The danish NT manager had the idea of a Scandinavian Superleague and I joined. Next Monday we will play against Danmark, the week after against Germany and th last game is against Norway. All games will be played on neutral ground. There is also a link to the thread (278562.1).
