the other thread has been closed but you deserve an answer :)
I am however curious (note curious, not sceptical) about the development of players. Where are the most promising, most improved, etc? What positions are well covered, and vice versa. For U21 players the window of opportunity is small and it can be hard to have a good overview earlier than the season they reach 20 years. I'd love to see some facts and statistical data (without revealing info that may thwart the competition or put the NT teams secret tactics at risk).
you're right, that report should be done twice for every season. before sunday you will have the first one, the following will be at ASG.
Norway is not such a big country, and in my periods as U21 coach I reached over every player drafted in Norway by going into the draft list (http://www.buzzerbeater.com/league/1214/draftSummary.aspx) and manually changing the number 1214-1234. It has to be done quickly before managers start to fire players or go bot. Division III can be done quickly by checking the conference overviews, since there are a lot of bot managers there. I know it's a lot of work for one person, but it is invaluable for the U21 and the NT coaches, as a tool and overview to find most* players, and as a good way to spark interest, and U21 news.
* Players from new teams have to be found manually.
we did the drafted search every season and we're working on the new draftees. it's fundamental. the first season i became coach i also made a search for the prevoius four season, so that I could find also best 21, 20, 19 years old players. ;)
News from the earlier NT's used creative freedom that built a team spirit and personality around the players (based on the quotes and/or info from the owner teams news), often with minor/major conflicts outside of the court, and speculated about how factors may make a difference in the upcoming matches (all made up, but entertaining to read).
that's nice and very hard for me too. I would have to find a helper carrying only about this. It's not easy to find, indeed. and I hope you agree that this part is the least important about team results, even if it creates a lot of fun around the nt. :)
