We do still have the top 2 teams... especially we you work out cost per wins.

I guess what it does show is the even when the Red side spend up, they are still just competitive.

Just goes to show, imagine if some of the guys on our side spent even a small amount of cash, red wouldn't even be in the running. Next Season will no doubt be a very different story come All-Star time me thinks.

In terms of making money we have the top two teams, but not in terms of wins and ability to win.

I still think in ability to win, we have it. I have only had 1 loss since purging my team and getting to the one I have now and that was last game, after a week making sure trainees got their minutes at the sacrifice of seasoned guys holding Game Shape.

I guess the the best way to describe the top of the Red side is LA Lakers! Lot's of dough, just can't put it together to beat the lesser teams.

On a side note, to answer your Tuesday night question, your opponent hasn't beaten anyone of note that could defend to save their lives, scores big, looses big, I think you clamping him won't be that difficult... you....easily.

Thanks mate, I was yelling at my coach and team to foul in the last 20 seconds so we could have the last shot. We put you in the penalty, just didn't use it??

Great win for you though, I couldn't cover both of your scorers, and get my trainee full minutes. I think you could make some noise come play offs on the Red side there!

A bit of movement on the home front.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that no one buys up big, otherwise I will have to as well.

That would be lame.

I think you might not be in luck, it looks like the calm before the storm.. there has to be cash stockpiles out there just waiting for a last minute sting, it happened 2 seasons ago, almost got a major upset, maybe said team has learned from 'almost' and is planning to 'definitely' this time?

I recon this will be down to the wire deadline stuff to see who tries to knock you off.

Thing is...

They can't have that much cash. I'm earning 150k/week and have enough reserves to buy my victory, twice. Why would they waste it?

Yeah it wouldn't make much sense, however, they all know they can't take you down as is, the only thing left is a rental or two on the deadline that (might) get them over, the way I see it there is only one play here to get past you in any of the teams in this leagues playbook, and that is a last minute buy up where you won't be able to alter your team through the TL, and hope they have done enough (spent), to get by you.
If we are looking at the Reds, any of the top 4 can beat each other, so they have to be thinking purely of getting by you... only one play... ambush.

Having another look at the financial commitments of the teams in the league, it appears as though SammyDog feels it could be his season; otherwise why would you be going backwards as much to make a couple of dollars in playoff games?

His Arena is too small for Div II (needs almost 1 milli), his team would need a few more pieces to be competitive, and he is going to drop a whole lot of cash in between seasons when the first financial update happens with no return if unsuccessful at promoting? He has to think it is HIS year.

It's going to be fun to watch.

I will be happy to go a round or 2 in the playoffs and get good training minutes for my trainees, scoop a couple of dollars from the gate and kick back crack a coldie and watch the finals.

On a side note. I go in for my ACL reconstruction on Tuesday this week. Should be fun. Hopefully I am coherent enough by 6 pm to watch my home game against Hey McFly.
