If people only cared about NBBA, this game would be dead...

Interesting question. The two were almost as similar as you could get but Nandino always seemed to score more points.

Mono-skilled? Perhaps, they were all offense...but...Nandino was in the top 10 in scoring in the league since I promoted to Div II. So even if you assume the 9 other players in the top 10 were SGs who played against him, he still outscored his opponent 6 out of 16 times.

Returning to reality those players were not all who he lined up against and with the defensive switches it didn't even matter much. How many teams in this league could have boasted two $50k mono-skilled offensive players?

The "twins" had a rather inflated salary and I understood I could have gotten more bang for my buck, I'll give you that. However, I would consider a 20 ppg Div II starter at least $2.5m. Zuhri is worth more because he is not as old. He is too old to train but his skills won't start to regress anytime soon.

I couldn't disagree with you more. I think every single team in this league could field 5 starters, 50k mono skilled offensive players without much trouble. Offensive players don't cost much on the market and are the fastest to train. Defensive stats is what brings real value to a player on the market.

This is the first season I will have even one player making 50k or more per week. I also only have only one player that has either JS or IS higher then their corresponding defensive rating. (I will have 2 by the end of the season based on training expectations). Defense wins in real life and in this game. After all, you can't go on a 10-0 run without making a few stops....

Second that. The market very highly rewards defense trainers, in my experience. And the game engine will punish you pretty severely for having one or more sieves defensively. While some of the salary effect is distorted by bigs-vs-smalls, I was never higher than 5th best salary in III.9 (last season, when I promoted), and I was the 2nd best team in the regular season the season before, on the 8th best salary. Personally, I'd much prefer to have the best PA than the best PF, and it appears to me from my experience that the top PA teams are much more likely to win in the playoffs than the top PF teams.

You missed my point completely.

I have defensive stoppers I can swap onto other positions. No team had more than 2 pure offensive players that could match those two last season. Therefore, going back to darkjosef's assertion, wtf do I care if he can't defend that well? I'd have to have played a team with 3 G/F types who scored more than him AND as I mentioned with the Top 10 scoring list, that simply was not even close to true.

So with the ability to switch on defense his defense was hidden whenever I needed to.

Except you still have a sieve somewhere. So you're basically accepting defensive matchup Rock-Paper-Scissors by having a poor defender out there for his scoring capabilities. And if someone hits Gipson with their top scorer, Gipson is likely to miss a lot of time with foul trouble (or foul out earlyish and/or get completely lit up playing Matador defense, if you use Let Them Play)
