Well, what I've found from my personal experience is that my team wins as a team. Because I'm mindful of game shape, I limit my players' minutes and even sit some of the starters sometimes to conserve them. The end result is that my guys usually don't have breakout individual performances, but rather they help the team overall, and I win games. Just this past Saturday, I knocked off the previously unbeaten #1 team in the other conference, after spotting them a 20 point half time lead. As long as my guys keep working together to win games, I don't really mind getting snubbed in the All Star game.

I think it goes without saying that the all-star game is neither serious or important. It gives the developers a small window to work on the game and it gives the majority of teams in the game a chance to train the important but neglected areas of FT and stamina.

Griping about it is as ridiculous as the all-star game itself, which certainly follows the NBA all-star game's m.o.

Once I scored a basket that still makes me laugh.

8 Allstars -> 5 Starter 3 Benchplayer :D

And oddly enough, the 5 starters for the opposing team all come from a single team too. I think this may have been a case where the coaches decided on the starters, and they just chose the players that normally play for them.
