this case was discussed in the gm boards before you open the threads, and imho it is not the first who is saved like that. Even when it isn't a guaranteed, that those player get rescued.

Oh come on man, salary is your main criteria? You compare a C with a SF-PF..


i believe he meant how he should protect them automatic, and for that salary would be the most easiest criteria - but it is far away from working.

what about the OP suggestion of listing any fired player for 1k as a free agent and retiring him if there's no bid? this would prevent things like that. and it would be more realistic. no player in the world retire, just because his team manager told him to.

I think most of you dont see the real problem that "elite" centers have no value on the transfer market and become a huge liability when injured. If such a player would be worth a significant amount nobody in the world would dump him unless he would like to damage a team intentionally.

The case mentioned in the OP is quite borderline and maybe it has sthg to do with the nationality of the team that dumped that guy.
