Yes my suggestion is very good and realistic.
What do you mean train one skill? That's what we do here.

Your suggestion is bad and unrealistic. Not every player improves, even if you assign a special trainer to him. The current system is better because it's not too complicated.
Here you need to train several skills. You need to change training weekly. Have you found the training page where to change training:)
In hattrick you have only one viable skill to train (playmaking). Whoever plays hattrick anyway. Football is the best drug if you want to fall asleep really fast...

Yes real players decline but while realistic I don't think it would encourage players to keep on playing the game when their star 18 year old Hall of Fame draftee Gred Oden keeps on injuring himself and is worse forever while the Kevin Durant they didn't draft gets better and better. (Not that you can actually train a 6'11" player to be a star SG in this game anyway.)

Think of the best player on your team right now. How would you like this message to come up next game, "Torn ACL out for 14 weeks -6 in DR, RE, ST and OD for ever"? It is realistic, just ask Brandon Roy, but would just encourage people to quit a game like this.

That's why pulling the realism card does not actually work in an online game. If you want everyone in your team to improve. Use FT, ST, GS training. You even have team trainings in REB, 1vs1, JR, JS and passing. Not enough options?

You and I both know that team training REB, 1vs1, JR and JS are not options. I am sure you have never done them because they are basically sabotaging your team. They are illusary options only ever used by new players who then quit the game when they realise how they have wasted all their opportunities to improve their team.

Yes it is realistic.
And the system isn't good at all when you have to play your 7'0 center @ PG if you want to improve his passing or outside defense. I'd like to see a training system implemented where playing your guys way out of position isn't necessary. It's not realistic and shouldn't be required anyways to improve those attributes
Not everything has to be 100% realistic or accurate but can we not turn this into a circus where 7'5 guys play at PG?

I have btw trained REB for team. Not only one week.
What would you expect from this suggestion then? That everyone would improve on the team like they were single position trained. The guys suggested for extra training even faster. Comon. If this would be implemented, the training would be even slower than the current team training + the singled out training would be slower aswell to compensate the "team improvement". So where is the gain?

I think younger players who get minutes @ PF / CENTER should get small training allocated to them, enough that you could get 4/5 pops from them in a season. Players at SG, PG, SF will not get any at all or very tiny (SF) maybe.
Right now, the only reason to even own a young player is for training that's it. Young players on your team is meaningless if you are not training.

You have my support.
A player that is being trained and get minutes improves upon his potential and age, even if not as drastically as a player who get personal training.

Training and game time keeps a player in game-shape regardless, but that has nothing to do with the improvement part that is parallel to the game-shape issue.

Would it affect the game? Yes of course and by definition.
Would it make the game worse? Not at all. It will make training and training desicions a bigger part of the game at the expense of the "eBay" part.
