Did not go 2-3 due to them playing R&G or PTB in 3 of their last 4 matches, including against Brazil. No guarantee they were playing LI.
Also no guarantee 2-3 would be better than man against them, even if it was sort-of-OK against the US.

Fouls and FTs, a tiny bit of shooting misfortune, weird rebounding. Their 2-3 worked really well because our guards aren't developed. I'd imagine we got plenty of clean looks (26 AST on 32 FG) but couldn't hit shots.

Not much you could do. I haven't followed the team and don't know player's skills, but I remember hating Sutherland. Jury still not out on him? In our 2 competitive games where we've played LI, he's scored 4 points in 57 minutes at C. That's not good if your other players struggle to score.

If they make that proposed change for SB, he could be a beast. Didn't work out this year for U21 purposes, and all that defensive training could have been balanced with offense. Of course then he'd be just another cookie cutter big man.

Yeah, I didn't really look into it what offense they ran the last couple games, so yeah, don't blame you for NOT going 2-3 zone. It because they crunched.

Yeah, scary. From an unknown quantity to a superhero.

Of course then he'd be just another cookie cutter big man.

The horror. Nah, I dunno. Who knows what his impact is now. He's worth a try. Would've been better if our entire team was better and our competition was better.

All 20 year olds have been scouted for next season's team.
Working on the 19 year olds.

Think anyone will notice if somehow I can keep Heighway's age at 21 again for next season? ;)

All 19 year olds have been scouted.
Working on the 18 year olds.

Then will be depth charts for each position to see how your trainee stacks up.

All 18,19, and 20 year olds have been scouted. If your player was on the transfer list today, I did not need to scout.
If you believe you have a quality player that has not been scouted tonight, please bbmail me the player's attributes.

By tomorrow, next season's extended roster will be posted on the offsite forum, with skills but without names.

Thank you.

U21 potential roster is on the offsite forum under "Season 23 - Roster Discussion" -- please leave a comment on what players you would like to see added to the team for next year.

Thank you.

This year's U21 begins on Monday. The team this year, in a word, is poor. Aside from 5 players who would have made last year's team, it practically looks like everyone took a year off from training.

It will tough to win many (any) games. I will still do the best I can.

The focus of my energy will be on ensuring that this piss poor level of talent on our U21 never happens again. I am meticulously contacting managers of 20, 19, 18 year olds, getting trainer levels, training plans, and future positions sorted out. Next year's team is looking mucho better.

Once I'm done this I will post a U21 training guide (similar to Fewmit's US U21 guide), a practical how-to train someone from day 1 after receiving a player from the draft.

I hope to continue the excellent communication between myself/Canadian managers/NT manager so that we have a solid pipeline of talent for years to come.

You will also find it impossible to find someone who scouts more thoroughly and efficiently. The day after the draft I had all divisions scouted. Previously this took up to a week and was done by different volunteers on a division by division basis. Also, before the draft I had all 18-21 year olds scouted to update our master depth chart of Canadian players.

If you remember me, then I don't care if everyone else forgets.
