Cup Watch
13 of the 16 teams in SBBL are still battling out for the Singapore Cup Champion. The competition is still young but teams are already facing less bots and tonight there's some pretty interesting games.
Ranked 26 Twinkies will be looking for a cup win tonight against a 6-0 mini SBBL(league II.1) team, ranked 24 Final Fantasy XIII. Twinkies is lead by F 6"3' Paul Rus, averaging 19.8 ppg and 6.8 rpg. Twinkies havent have much success so far in the league games so the coach might ask the team to put their all in the cup, though the players while playing against Flyer Sonic on Tuesday looking tired, unable to create anything and standing around watching instead of rotating. This might prove to be a problem against Final Fantasy XIII's own version of twin towers, Mo Jian Ting (15.2ppg, 9.6rpg) and Dong Tian Kwang (11.2ppg, 10.0rpg) who arent afraid to bang bodies with defenders and are very physical. Twinkies players must summon up their strength and play through tired legs to prevent Final Fantasy XIII's twin towers from steamrolling over them.
Ranked 7 Shohoku Backers will go up against ranked 3 ESPLANADE BASKETBALL CLUB who has let to lose any game of any kind yet in this season. The 1st time these 2 team met in the regular season ESPLANADE beat Shohuku 86-69. Daugalis Špilevskis will be the go to guy for Shohoku, that guy that ESPLANADE must stop. Daugalis Špilevskis has so far poured in a total of 71 pts this week and there seems to be no one that can slow him down. However ESPLANADE BASKETBALL CLUB is the 4th best defensive team in SBBL, holding teams to an average of only 78.3pts with 37.6% shooting and a league best 11.8% opponent 3pt FG%. ESPLANADE BASKETBALL CLUB"s ever smiling and very rich G Li Tianying will probably be tasked to guard Daugalis. Shohoku's big men C Alfred Ethan Capatan and C Simone Mocini will also have to find an answer for Mr Double Double Lim Shi Xin (11.0ppg, 10.5rpg) from dominating the paint. Those who wants to watch a high level basketball cup game should tun in to this one.
