Exceptions are easy, too. Like e.g. these rules do not apply during the first season a team is playing.

It does not make sense to add an exception to every new change - we need a VERY simple game to attract new users, that can be competitive right from the start.

I think those who should be penalised are those who have a semi-bot behaviour. While plummeting from D1 to D3 you should have been penalised and prevented making 10+ million in the process. That is, when you were in D1 and D2.

Now that you found a level (D3) where your roster, that was a tanking roster in higher divisions, can compete you should not be penalised anymore. So if you can still make huge profit and compete, good for you, your fanbase should return to the appropriate level for your division.

Your D1 record when you tanked: 0-22 -1648 Point Differential
Your D2 record the following season: 1-21 -767 Point Differential
Come on, you can't defend something like that. It's allowed like daytrading was allowed, but it's just abusing the system. If in a game where you're supposed to try and win, you are rewarded for losing, it defies the spirit of the game doesn't it?

We could avoid this luxury tax and get rid of the overextension tax if that attendance drop would be implemented. That would make a lot of things easier and even more realistic.

The problem with tanking is that it is too profitable: you earn lots of money through attendance and you can easily train 3-6 trainees as you like and earn even more money. If you played before only 500 people that first part would be eliminated.

It's far more complicated to always invent a tax here and there. This will only cure some of the symptoms but not the illness.

I am not tanking - I am just not competing and I will finish ~2nd to 4th in my division. It's not my fault, there are not enough human teams to put some pressure on me.

In the current economic situation my savings are too low to get the players that will grant me promotion and stay in DIV I, plus I have no pressure when it comes to training my guys. In my opinion, I am playing just the right way, considering my short and long term goals.

I assume that on a global scale this might be a problem...

This could lead me to quitting after 30 seasons.........

blablabla, empty threats...

...how much money do you have?
...do you know how you will be taxed next season?

As soon as you can answer the second question, you can consider your future in this game.

I have no problem with people earning money because they are active in any way:
- they are successful and therefore a lot of fans want to see them playing
- they are training their players and selling them
- they are trading (even daytrading)

But if you're just shoveling money by losing games intentionally - that's profiting from a bug, imho.

That's pretty much the definition of tanking...

Maybe I am a treadmill team. If reaching the playoffs and playing the conference finals every season is equal to tanking, we should shut down the game immediately...

- not every team can compete, some have to be in the middle or at the bottom
- farming?
- day trading?

EDIT: we have to acknowledge, that once you are training players, you are not playing to the fullest potential of your team - thus you should be punished...

Increasing the difficulty for weak teams, is a horrible idea. Just imagine you are hit with two longer injuries of your key players, lose all your games for 2-3 weeks due to weak roster, bad GS AND are hit with low income in the weeks afterwards... How would that motivate the people?

In addition it would even help the established teams, so the mobility between league levels would decrease even more...
