Our team plays one more important game of the WC campaign today, this time against Canada. The good result in this match won't be decisive in any case, but it might show what is this team capable of. One more possible benefit of winning this game is possible 7th place at the end (a victory doesn't secure it).
I will sayl something about our rivals :
Canada is one of the strongest BB NTs in American confederation, which has two continental semifinalist titles. They were usually over performed by the USA, Brazil or Argentina...
The last two seasons, including this, are the best in Canadian history. Canada qualified to the WC through repechage in a solid group with Italy, Japan and Nigeria. They passed to this stage of the WC through the group A with Slovakia, Czech Republic, China, USA and Ghana in it. Their two victories were enough for them to achieve historical success.
They have very quality group of players, with lot of potential and chance to progress further in the future. They are one of the favorites to win some of the next continental championships.
Our scouts watched all of their games, scouted their players so we could say that we have analyzed them pretty much.
Our guys performed physio training yesterday morning and watched Canadian games today.
We met the team's captain, Jibril Abu-Mansour, in the hotel. He thinks that the team has enough potential to beat Canada:
"Canada is strong team, with good manager. They haven't come so far for no reason. Luckily for us, we did exactly the same as they did, so we have our hopes of winning the match. All of our players are fit, with excellent game shapes and we are dying to hear the names of guys who will play the game. Our manager showed us some hints, which might be useful during the game."
Jibril was pretty optimistic, but he pays respect to the opponents.
Victory may bring us some more happiness, but we don't lose anything by losing the game.
Join me on chat at 19.30, I assume that there will be some Canadians, too.
We are the best!
