well, here in Brasil the Cup is pretty long...

(of course I always remember my Cup title and always seem to forget to mention that I got kicked out of the Cup on the first round on season 2, hehehehe)

damn damn damn

lost my cup game.

If I compare all ratings from the 8 remaining teams, mine was second best, even on the away game. Bad luck in the draw, and bad luck for not playing at home. Should I have won this game, I'd have a very decent chance at the cup.
Now the team defeating me probably gets it, unless he CT-ed against me today.
I hate CT in order to get 1 round extra, since you're almost sure you will get kicked out the next game.
In my opinion CT should be deleted. Just normal, and TIE for teams that like to raise their enthousiasm at games wich are less important.
CT creates odd situations. You can only win a cup if you are lucky enough no-one will CT against you. If you do it yourself, you will be gone the next round, so no one wanting that cup will do it, but teams who know they can't make it might CT just to get 1 round more, and it totally sucks.
Same in play-offs. Lesser team often CTs to get the 2 or 3 additional games, preventing the stronger team who does not want to CT in order to get the title from advancing. If you are lucky both you and your opponent want the title, and no one will CT, if unlucky you are screwed only because of CT. If they keep it, the effect should at least be strongly reduced to only being able to give an edge on otherwise close games, never should it make weaker teams win play-off or cup games this often.

Okay, I stray off-topic here.
On with chasing flags now!

I don't agree with you, especially not in cup games. This gives less skilled teams more chances to win, which belongs in a cup where you will always see cupfighters.

Check out the Dutch Soccer Cup this year for example. The best teams were out before the quarter finals. One of the worst Dutch Soccer teams in the first league made it to the semi's, where they lost with penaltys after a 2-2 after 120 minutes.

CT has it's charm, so it should stay to give the smaller teams more chance to win a game vs a bigger and better team. Otherwise you will never see cupfighters here.
If only TIE and Normal will be there, you will win more because you belong to the better teams, so it would be better for you. But I do think it adds an extra dimension to the game, which should not be removed.

You can only win a cup if you are lucky enough no-one will CT against you. If you do it yourself, you will be gone the next round, so no one wanting that cup will do it, but teams who know they can't make it might CT just to get 1 round more, and it totally sucks.

And I do think this is more an emotional statement than something else. Which might be logic because you just lost a game. Ok it sucks to get an opponent who CT's, but it does requir some skill (and luck) to pick out the right moment for your CT's. Your statement is something like only a CT in the final is valid, which I think is too 'heavy' if you understand what I mean ;)

As someone who is generally against the CT, TIE system I tend to agree with you on this point. Using CT in the cup is a neat feature to allow smaller teams to go for cup glory. I think it differs from CT in the play-offs because using CT does not just hurt your chances in the next round but also damages your league chances. If a team is willing to sacrifice their chances of promotion for a cup run they should have that option.

That said I do think CT is too powerful a tool right now in general but hopefuly that will be settled in the ME updates this week.
