What I am seeing so far IS signs of an increase in defensive effectiveness.....What I am seeing is that good shotblockers do seem to get some blocks/extra blocks against bad teams (hard to say since they always get blocks anyway against weak opponent) but against good/better teams with good flow...the defensive effectiveness (poor/limited shooting from their matchup) seems to happen...but the blocks are not there. Obviously a limited sample 3~7 games per player that I am looking at so far

That just means the only thing: SB for that level is toolow, mayb e you need like 18-19 for 18-19is guys to be stopped effectively. Just like OD, 15od against 14 js is like 28 percent shoting while 15OD against 18 or 19 JS is like 65 percent:D Atleast what i have found out from my observation of my guards performation. Also about SB, 9SB for me works magicly against weaker oponents with around 9-10IS, while it doesnt work on 14-15 IS guys nearly at all.

Personally i am looking forward to gaining an advantage against oponents by training defensive minded-outside shooting-passing big guys atm. Theil IS wont be over 13 while plans for ID, SB and RB are 16each atleast. with 14js and 15pas, whicht hey already have, they can dominate future:D

I agree with youi that OD on bigs toocheap. But back to shot blocking, it may be indirect effect as i have noticed in this season games. Inside shot attempts count are significantly decreased, which leads oposing team to slightly disturbed offensive flow and forces to take more mid range jumpers which are least effective per point per shot basis in real life, idk how about bb but atleast its still less effective than inside one. Hopefully they will tweak salary formula and make OD more costly on bigs and JR less costly on guards, in my opinion it may be all what we need now after sb tweaking this offseason.

But another funny issue, if they decrease the cost of JR, then on average inside teams could have higher skilled outside shooters than they have now for the same salary, which will deacrease the indirect impact of shot blocking of less inside shots taken, lol....Thats why its so hard to fix game engine, because everything is so complex.

If inside oriented guards are salary efficient, and outside ones arent (this is obvious) Then another though maybe bbs could tweak some guard skills too, which benefits for inside tactic. For example passing, Inside shooting. And conclusion to be made out of ur observations are IS is toocheap at high levels, so they need increase the IS impact on salary formula in addition too, or decrease Id, sb, and rb. Maybe you right, decrease id, sb, rb costs, cause highly skilled centers have already higher salaries than guards does.

The funny thing is i though differently than you did but at the end we all came to the same conclusions, wells if ur last post observations are somewhat true. This could only mean GE at high levels are just PATHETIC atm:D

My mistake i was thinking about terorizing oponents with outside/midrange shooting front line, which i am really happy atm, but i am in division 4:D and never though people could build OD centers, but looked at the TL, yep there are some which could stop my front line to like 35 percent which is nearly a collapse.

I'm assuming ID on guards isn't very effective against guards with IS? Since ID on guards is cheap too.

I understand, that's why I was wondering wether the effectiveness of ID vs OD on guards is known, because maybe 12 ID can stop 12 IS without the need of SB, then you can just counter IS with ID as both have about the same training speed (extra IS via 1v1/JS forwards, extra ID with OD training).

We need to remember SB on Bigs not only defend other Bigs. A Center with mid-high SB can affect (and stop) most guards lay ups. Specialy in 2-3 Zone were the C defend right under the Basket.

PS. Bigs can pop slowly JR training JS for SF/PF; at the same pace you can pop JS/IS training 1 vs 1 for SF/PF . OD and PA are the only skills that you can't train at C/ PF spot (1-2 positions).

I forgot that your theories and believes are the only ones with validation and everyone else (including BBs and theirs facts) are wrong.
Sorry my mistake.
