I would consider giving him a whole season of Guard-training. Pushing his JS, PA, DR and HA up to average or so would be the way I'd go. I think its the best way to spend the most training on secondaries as long as the player is cheap, so one doesn't have to waste a huge salary for someone playing out of position.

I agree. Some managers spend 3 seasons trainining just inside skills and when they start training PA and OD, they have to pay 120k/week for an overrated PG that adds nothing to the game when he is playing except for some rebounds.

I'm also not sure it's been proven yet, but the players I've had with low handling lose a lot more of those "Player X tries to grab the rebound, but the ball goes out of bounds" than those with average-respectable handling. I've had one backup PF in the past who was a monster rebounder (phenomenal), but had low handling (pitiful) and would lose at least 3-4 of those rebounds every game.

Yep... Larry Bird used to play SF most of the time. PF has his secondary position.
