Everyone knows that during the last minutes, the price of the player is likely to rise considerably.
This is not true. Players who are listed close to their real value are not likely to see a considerable rise at all.
That's why it makes sense to postponed the end of the sale of the involved players.
Listing a player at less than it's real value may attract more bidders, but also leaves you vulnerable to service interruptions. Risk and reward.
For what I recall, deadlines have been extended when there's been prolonged server downtime, scheduled or unexpected, but never for occasional server "hiccups".
