True. I've never been able to get very far in the cup before, but I'm getting better draws this year than I ever have. Yes, that is very nice to see, although I would have like a shot at Hardin though, oh well. Just for the benefit of anyone else who sees this, if you're looking to sell any 10k+ salary Americans, let me know. My goal is to have an all-American team, but the necessity of winning as put that on hold for now until I can get to DIV.
Now, weekend previews!
I'm excited because we have one of the most exciting games in weeks on Saturday as the two top seeds of V.22's toughest conference battle it out on TV as Türkçüler travels to FritoLay Arena to play against the Undefeated Washington Hoyas. This is one of the big games of the season as it will play a huge part in playoff seeding, and test the mettle of both of these teams to the core.
If you'll remember, the Hoyas played their season opener against the Downtown Dudes, winning by 3. This began their 4 game win streak, becoming the conference favorite with their strong outside shooting ratings and excellent play by PG Vernon Manning. However, Manning and Co. come into this game looking a little worn after playing three games a week to maintain their cup run. Jay Duke's squad usually runs 2 a week, and forgoes scrimmages to keep all of his players rested, usually due to an early exit from the national tournament. But this year, the Hoyas have made it to the third round, where they will be facing another tired team, the Forest Elves.
The Dudes were unable to stop the Hoyas, but they held off Türkçüler 97-78 last week. The Turks are an interesting squad, but have dominated this season after a late entry into the league last year, where they quickly rose to prominence, but fell just short of a playoff bid. Without a clear on-court leader, they are quite dangerous both on the outside and inside attack. If anyone can stop the Hoyas' win streak, it's them.
I'm expecting for the Turks to pull this one out, their inside game and domination of the boards will win it for them.
This is by far the most interesting game this week. Statesboro and Richmond both play innactive teams that will soon go bot, as do I.
