Manon explained it pretty well, but yes you can use money from transfers before they are technically completed and the player is still on the transfer list.

tbh I never understood why it is like that in the first place, but that could be changed too.

My belief was always that you can do that so you can find a replacement player after your transfer player has bids on him for the upcoming game/games, but I suppose everyone has different takes on this.

Maybe teams that list a player shouldn't be able to use them in their lineup after they have a bid or are listed at all. Teams that are selling a player don't play that player after they have a guaranteed commitment to sell or trade.

That is an idea. I see just one con here in a very specific case. After the draft, it happens that I list a draftee and give him 48 minutes at a specific position to the benefit of the buyer, be it arranged with that guy or in the purpose of appealing to potential buyers.

It could be a Problem if the Player is set in a lineup and then gets a bid, is removed from the lineup, which in turn results in a walkover.

Once listed a Player cannot Play would be a simple and clean solution, that would result in even less Players on the market though.

This is another thread trying to solve a "problem" that isn't a problem.

We don't always have to solve problems, we can try to improve the game too. Real talk.

You're right about that, of course. But voiding bids on injured players isn't improvement, imo. There's nothing wrong with it. Everybody knows of the possibility when they bid on a player, and rarely if ever would the injury actually be sufficient reason to take back a bid.

When you buy something online, if you get it shipped to you broken, it is reasonable for you as the customer to expect to be able to return it for a new non-broken item or to get your money back. It is not unreasonable for a consumer in a market to want what he or she pays for. There is no logical reason for a buyer to have to take on this risk. This situation is an unintended consequence of the way that the bidding system has been set up and should be corrected.

Apples and oranges.

If you want a game with no risk you need to find a different game.
