Well the LI "dominance" is one of many problems this game has. To an extent it is a manager made problem but then again not as i explained in my earlier post.
If you want to read some more about playing this game in a different way there are some reading to be done in this thread that i started some seasons ago: (262742.1)
I hope you find something interesting in that thread that perhaps makes you and others think another step before deciding to go all in on LI.

The thing that I do still find disappointing is that even when outside shooting is far and away the best option for a team, you still never see a team actually really prioritize that. For example., my game Saturday (90486324)) where my team outside shooting rating was essentially double the team outside defense I was going against, in the first 11 minutes of the fourth quarter (which started tied), my team attempted 20 shots, and only three of them were beyond the arc. After three periods where we were shooting over 50% from three and barely 33% from inside the arc, running motion, so you would hope that there'd be a little more attempt to fire the long ball.

I remember when I first played the game and PF and C would take 5 or more 3s a game.. Especially at important points.. A lot of the poor and often bigs shooting 3s seems to have been fixed from the game engine but I think what you describe may be the consequence

I agree that when you have a good outside shooting situation it always feels like your team wont shoot outside often enough or get the ball to the right guys.

Maybe this is a PA issue though??

I don't know though how this could be adjusted...in most cases outside is a big mistake so teams favoring inside selection is good for your team.

Maybe. My "PG" type guy that I had picked up when I was training these guys at SG has been playing SF, so I'm contemplating dumping him for yet another low-flow, high JR type to see if I can make anything but jacking up a 3 be so unpalatable that the engine bends to my will. I am already convinced that more passing just means more open layups and open jump shots, which unfortunately does not work well for me. I think I'm past the point of ever hoping the offense will be actually effective, and now I'm just hoping that I can just finish seasons with a higher 3pt % than regular shooting %.

If LI can kill someone, shouldn't we all use it?
