Weaksauce. 2nd in the conference, 0 all-stars. My SG Nichols had the same amount of points in 6 less minutes per game than Little Richard (and a better rating). Grr mindless computers.

I was amazed to see Kelly in the starting line-up, and further the top vote-getter in the league.

And if I recall correctly, BB-Charles said the ASG voting takes more into account than simply scoring. I don't have the post memorized verbatim, but it has something to do with a player's "overall contribution to his team" in terms of all stats, not just points. I think it was modeled after the PER rating:

Doesn't really explain the flood of, erm, Flood's players, but I'm just throwing that out there.

Wow, that's great info, how long did it take to put that together?

Sorry, missed this. The whole thing only took about 2-3 hours. I'm a bit of a stats nut, so I had fun doing it and didn't really notice the time going by.

Those stats helped me realize more than I already did the obvious - that my team's overly offensive with little defensive skill...The stats also point out that my team is in horrible need of rebounding help.

A few thoughts on the all-star rosters:

1. I can't believe Whittington didn't get one of the two PG spots. Not only does he lead the league in points (he's one game short of eligibility due to injury), but he has a higher average rating than both Capraro and Figueroa.

2. Big 8 SFs must suck if Lazarescu got in.

3. Big 8 definitely wins the game.

There are a few reasons I can think of that Bruno "The Italian Stallion" Capraro got in over Whittington-

1) He has been in all the games.
2) He is third in the league in steals, at 3.4/game.
3) I hear he is quite the ladies man, and my latest demographic-breakdown of All-Star voters gives women ages 18-24 a 35% share.

Seriously though, I think we can all agree that the formula for ASG rosters is in need of some tweaking...

no kidding. i am 3rd to last in our conference and have 3 all-stars. that doesn't bode well for great-8's chances in this game.

True -- not that who makes the rosters is that important anyway.
