I'm still convinced you can make it to II and avoid relegation there without a strong front-court.

This is probably still true and I know that it was true at one time (I believe both Digging for Change and myself are/were guard trainers). The 2-3 zone helps a lot and let you get by with just enough front court (rebounding and inside defense).

I'd like to bring this post over from the other thread as there are a few things within it that I'm going to ask for clarification. You said:

Some general observations, since brianjames covered the training department:

1) selling out every order of seats is not a good idea. you need to find a spot where you're almost selling out, but not quite. otherwise you may lose money from what you could otherwise be making.

Is there an arena calculator out there? Its clear that I've been on a winning streak this season. Assuming promotion, however, the same will not be said for my first season in D III. Do winning and losing affect sell outs? It sure seemed to in my early season games.

2) moreover, with the playoffs coming up, you could probably have kept them high and got high returns during the POs (I think officially there is no special PO-bonus, but they are counted as TV games which brings some extra crowd: not to mention they are games in which you face division leading teams). Other than that, I think your arena (perhaps with a few extra expensive seats is in a good position to start III).

Too late for this approach now as the season ends in the middle of the month and playoffs won't take much longer than that. Is there a traditional down turn of interest in the team at the beginning of the season? In other words, do I need to wait and see if I can get on some kind of run in June before I raise my prices again in July?

3) I don't like Sankovic at PF. I would sell him (if you can), and try to get something like this (I'm posting a scrub from my team, just for an example):

Jump Shot: mediocre Jump Range: pitiful
Outside Def.: mediocre Handling: average
Driving: respectable Passing: average
Inside Shot: respectable Inside Def.: proficient
Rebounding: respectable Shot Blocking: awful
Stamina: respectable Free Throw: proficient

or better. Or maybe a triple strong or better (IS, ID, RB) with fewer secondaries.

Why wouldn't I be able to sell him? Also, I'm looking at your guy and seeing someone who is more talented all around than the guy you're suggesting I dump. Your player can rebound, play defense, shoot, drive and pass. My guy is a rebounder who can play defense. Period, end of story. Isn't there going to be a distinct difference in price for these two types of players. Also, doesn't his strong rebounding compliment my team's weakness. I have plenty of guys who can do the other things (score, etc) but not many than can rebound like this guy.

4) Your roster screams to me R&G. That means, in effect, a mix of R&G and Balanced attack (PTB when you want to blow out an opponent, BO if you want to spare your players), because you want to keep opponents guessing.

I like an uptempo kind of game. So yes, my team is designed to play that way. Also, my league is full of weaker teams so I can pretty much play any style of offense I want and so long as I'm playing the defense appropriate to stop their strengths, I win.

5) In that connection, JS awful on an SF is a huge limitation. Your SF will take a lot of shots. Your secondary priority, after replacing the PF should be to replace the SF.

My SF is respectable x 6 with avg rebounding. Based on your comments regarding my PF, I'm almost thinking my SF could be the replacement for my PF. How much will his being 6' 3" affect his ability to play that position? He's 27 so I won't be training him. He'll be a guy to sell/fire at some point next season and depending on the approach I decide to take on Mina, the 21 yr old PG.

6) 44.5k staff: what staff do you have? and what salary? I have lvl. 5 coach, lvl. 5 doctor and lvl 2 PR and spend 46k (I used to spend 34k when I first got them).

Covered this in my overview post and BB-mail. With the buying system, what do I do? I don't want to spend money to stay the same.

And, of course, thank you for your help.

What time does training occur? I switched training at the last minute from handling pg/sg to pressure pg because my 2 main trainees had more than 48 minutes at PG.

Mina popped to proficient in Driving.

*by last minute I mean 8:00 pm EST.

Howdy Xarn, good to see you bringing together a decent team here. Let me know if you need any pointers from me- my experiences in the Irish Cup Final (loser) and currently undefeated league win streak have given me a lot of insight into how to do things right....

... but seriously, am looking to go to the premier league next season for a bit stiffer competition. I am building up my TS as we speak.
