3) register players for B3 at the start of the season and don't allow to play bought player after that
This seems like a sensible solution and along the lines of things we've done here in the past.
The reason we haven't done anything like this yet is that while for the past few seasons it has appeared that this might be a problem, it has turned out not to be; teams have tried essentially renting superstars but haven't been able to win the tournament that way.
Like with other debates we've had that would take us off-topic in this thread, as a game designer I'm happy with things that look like loopholes and encourage teams to spend resources but don't actually work very well. I wouldn't want to remove such things from the game.
If this does turn out to be a dominant strategy, we'd likely do something like 3), except that we might include the opportunity to update the roster partway through the tournament (think UEFA Champions League).
UEFA Champions League dont allow a player to play in the same season on 2 different teams in competition, you cannot register him.
Anyway, this B3 final lost my interest when i saw both teams signing expensive players, this is just awfull for the game, it just seems a race between the 2 finalists about who can expend more money. Anyway, i dont think they are afraid since im sure they have both great incomes and this kind of moves wont have any consequence for their clubs. One top spanish manager said it the other day on a forum, top teams have expensive rosters, but also have higher incomes and this ends like a wheel that make imbalances.
Now that you mentioned UEFA, i dont know if you know about football(soccer), but I'm from Barcelona and we really appreciate that our best players trained lot of years in our youngest teams like Messi, Xavi, Iniesta etc, but in B3 its really difficult to find players that have trained on their team during several seasons or rookies, its hard to find teams that were build ''from the training and not from the money''.
