well, this is your news post
We would also like to announce that after heated negotiations, the players have finally agreed to a new collective bargaining agreement taking effect in Season 15. Players will be given a larger share of television revenue (meaning that your weekly TV income will go down). In return, players have agreed to only take a salary during weeks when their teams play at least one competitive league game. Teams finishing in 5th and 8th place will pay no salaries during both weeks of the playoffs, and teams eliminated from the playoffs will pay no salaries in the second playoff week. Teams in a relegation series will only pay second week salaries if they end up playing a decisive game during the second week.
You say nothing on WHY you made this changes.
In this thread you only claimed the following.
In fact, these changes came about in order to help rebalance several pieces of the game
Maybe if you explained a bit better the reasons for this changes we would have made more sensible comments.
Nonetheless, it is clear for everybody that compared to now:
1) Teams making it to the playoff final will lose money due to the reduced tv revenue
2) Teams finishing 5th will make more money (unless the tv cut is more than, say, 30% and compensates for the 2 weeks salary cut, which would be a distaster)
3) While now finishing 3th or 4th is always economically preferable than finishing 5th, in the future that might not be true for everyone.
