My long term strategy is this: Have fun and don't take this awesome game too seriously.

No, poor planning is to say "I'm going to get a 23,000 seat arena NO MATTER WHAT." and then blindly moving ahead until you have 23,000 seats in your arena.

I have no idea about business. Luckily, this has nothing to do with business.

You should have whatever you think is a successful strategy. My personal strategy, which I shared and which you are in know way encouraged to follow, is one of going with the flow, doing a little bit of this and a little bit of that.

Eventually, the game will reach a state of equilibrium across all its phases and changes will be less frequent. When this happens it will be time to begin outlining a formula for success.

Once I scored a basket that still makes me laugh.

That sounds to me like a long term plan!

that is your long term strategy,

but to me my having fun is having grasp what i want to do and doing it. true i took this game so seriously before i log in more than 7 to 15x a day.

i analyze my games, my opponents games, stretching my ideas and thoughts of the game engine and make as multiple models and at every task i try to come up with assumptions and possibilities which how would a player react to it.

mostly i got my team to do it since i know the skill level, some who kindly help me let me observe what i need to forecast the events.

now that translate to being an addict. but im having fun, cant blame me for it. at the age of 8 years old im already playing basketball, i was able to shoot 3's at the age of 11. i won my first mvp when i was 13 that also included my career high at 32 pts. so basketball for me is my life. its my passion.

by the way you describe your poor planning contradicts already what your saying before. a little bit of this and a little bit of that already constitutes to short term strategy to reach the long term strategy

just that to you, your just doing it when you feel doing it or the need arises. while me on the other hand will make planning and not just planning i have to see ahead whats coming so i know what steps i needed.

lastly what i meant by business is, in every business there is a need for planning. a goal likewise, i didnt mean that in every plan you make will make you successful but one will never succeed without planning.

My point is that because there are so many changes made so often to this game, the best way ( for me ) is to be flexible. If you want to say that's a short term plan or a long term plan, that's great. What it is is semantics and the start of a circular argument. No thanks.

I'm not sure what this thread has to do with your basketball career highlights, but congratulations. You ever make it to Thailand, give me a ring, and this 41 year old will wipe the court with your MVP for free.

and Superfly Guy- That's right. If and when that day comes, I'll get in line with the long-term planners. Until then, I'm enjoying the ride ( A Sharman-like 35-0 domestic campaign in season 8) and hoping they keep changing things up on us.

A small suggestion after the "news". Why you don't test the new GE in the matches of private league?

Hi

I read the new post that says that the changes in the game engine are delayed till all-stars break because some irregularities in suterdays games.
Well I had a really strage game and I wonder if it's becuase the new engine or not.

in general I ordered the team to look inside but instead they shot 26 3-pointers, in particular my SF (which is more of a PF in his skills) who shot 6 3-pointers and my SG who shot 7, that's not really look inside isn't it?
I'll just add that the opponent played 1-3-1 and his inside defence was pitiful(high).

VERY DISAPPOINTING
Why reversing the changes after they have already been made? the new GE was alot batter then the old one... tough they're both not perfect the new GE was alot closer to reality and also alot more attractive...

Because it was the best sense decision? They can test the new GE on the private leagues, so we dont throw away 1 season testing the GE.

As I read it here is what has happened:

BBs change GE and implement it for scrimmages.

New season begins with half of "new" GE. Reasons for this are unclear.

Because scrimmages are not affected by enthusiasm, becasue managers play scrubs during scrimmages, because exploratory tactics are used during scrimmages, and maybe a few other reasons, new GE has much different results in league games.

managers are bewildered and upset. BBs are caught offguard by differences in results between scrimmages and league games.

BBs make decision to go back to old GE until more testing and fine-tuning is completed.

Seems to be a pretty good decision in my mind.

and how many players put their default roster to play scrimmages? only few, there cant get good info about GE. many managers train SG/PG in inside skills, and C/PF in jumpshot or outside defense.
