As someone who is generally against the CT, TIE system I tend to agree with you on this point. Using CT in the cup is a neat feature to allow smaller teams to go for cup glory. I think it differs from CT in the play-offs because using CT does not just hurt your chances in the next round but also damages your league chances. If a team is willing to sacrifice their chances of promotion for a cup run they should have that option.

That said I do think CT is too powerful a tool right now in general but hopefuly that will be settled in the ME updates this week.

I also agree with you to some point.

However I must clarify 2 things: First, I am not sure he CT-ed, he might as well have played normal, he played at home...

Second, what I meant with the post is that a team CT-ing will have 99% chance he will get kicked out next round (unless his opponent CT-ed too the previous game), so in fact CT does NOT help smaller teams win the cup, it only helps them advance 1 round, then exit.
Shout CT work well for teams, even lesser, to be able to get all the way to the cup that would be fine with me. As it is now CT is a kamikaze game to gain just 1 more game, and money, not to get to the cup...
Hope you understand what I meant.

They are not your friends; they dispise you. I am the only one you can count on. Trust me.

Yes I do understand, but there are some situations where it might work out.

For example when a team CT's with a high enthusiasm they still aren't chanceless for the next round, or when a team knows you are the biggest team to defeat, and expects a easiers team the next round. You can CT in the cup and then TIE a few times in the league (if you want to get the cup and don't care that much about the few league games that week), then the CT in the cup could be really effective.
This works every round except in the week where there are 2 cup matches.

I agree with you on the playoff part though.

Better update that...my poor showing in the cup has allowed me to get up to 16 flags now, with #17 coming this week when Argentina comes to town.

Oh, I don't know -- a couple of lousy cup runs and you could be fightin' for the top spot. :-)
